Provides three residential treatment facilities exclusively for veterans struggling with chemical dependency, post-traumatic stress disorder and other life challenges. They are located in Manhattan, Richmond Hill, Queens, and Ellenville NY. The Ellenville facility is dedicated to female veterans and offers gender-specific treatment at a safe and encouraging environment for women veterans. Also operates the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) which provides community-based housing assistance and support services for at-risk veterans and their families. These services include temporary financial assistance, housing counseling, legal service referrals, daily living services, personal financial planning and transportation services.

Provides rehabilitation readiness services for adults (18+) diagnosed with a major mental illness. Clients must reside in Brookhaven Town or the East End Townships.

Affiliated with the Stony Brook Clinical Psychology Ph.D. the KPC is an outpatient mental health facility that has been serving the community since 1972. As a nonprofit training clinic for clinical psychologists, we provide psychological services based on the latest clinical and research advances. The psychological services provided at the KPC are based on cognitive-behavioral treatment models, which address the “here and now” and the problem thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be associated with your distress. Our therapy is active and involves a collaborative effort and commitment between you and your therapist as you work towards measurable goals. CBT-based interventions are available for a wide range of problems, as typically found in outpatient clinics. Problems addressed include issues related to anxiety difficulties, adjustment problems, depression, grief, trauma, anger control problems, issues related to parenting, conduct issues with children, relationship and couple problems, sexual difficulties, occupational difficulties, academic problems including learning difficulties and ADHD, as well as issues related to personality. In addition, at the KPC we have state-of-the art specialty clinics designed to address specific kinds of problems: Anxiety Disorders; Depressive Disorders; Couple and Marital Relationships and Children and Teens. All clients will first undergo a careful assessment. We offer one-on-one treatment, couple and family therapy, as well as several group therapy programs. Treatment is typically once weekly, although more intensive schedules are also possible when warranted. The length of treatment varies depending on the severity and types of clinical problems. The average duration of treatment is approximately 12 to 16 sessions. We operate on a Wait List system. After a brief phone screening process, which takes approximately 15 minutes, you are entered onto our Wait List, which allows us time to match your needs with the best appropriate therapist from our team. We do not contract with insurance providers; however, our fees are based on a sliding scale according to income and are considerably lower than those of practitioners in the community. The Krasner Psychological Center is open and available to service our community during the COVID-19 crisis and quarantine. Offers multidisciplinary treatment to children and adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa . Provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and plans individualized treatment program. Offers outpatient treatment involving professional patient monitoring nutritional counseling and individual and family psychotherapy. Also offers in-patient treatment, where appropriate, involving intensive treatment in a highly structured environment and a day program attended by patients 8am-6pm Monday through Friday, with treatment intensity comparable to treatment of hospitalized patients. Provides 24 hour care and supervision for the frail elderly and persons living with mental illness in an adult home setting. Services include: room, board, meals, laundry services, medication management, social and recreational programs, field trips and case management.

Provides residential treatment services to children and adolescents who suffer serious emotional difficulties 5 to 17 years of age in five homes in Nassau and Suffolk Counties(Bethpage, Farmingdale, Islip, Manorville, and Plainview). Services include counseling, daily living skills, education/vocational support, socialization, family support groups, and family therapy.

Offers a team approach for providing disciplinary services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness who have not been successful with other treatment options and may pose a risk to themselves or others. Offers case management and community based services which may include psychiatry, nursing, a variety of mental health services and peer specialists.

Provides comprehensive mental health services to patients in their own homes. Offers specialized programs for patients of various ages. Provides continuing day treatment mental health services to Hispanic/Spanish speaking clients. Services include: assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, vocational/educational training, recreation, crisis intervention, rehabilitation services, social support, self help and empowerment services for individuals 18 years or older.

Coordinates enhanced mental health services for children and youth who are at risk of or have been diagnosed with a serious emotional disturbance (SED) and their families in Suffolk County. The CSPOA offers a centralized, coordinated referral process using a universal referral form and represents a consensus among community-based and residential programs to ensure appropriate service delivery to the highest needs youth. Provides rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation and support services including medication support, wellness management, integrated treatment for co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders, family education, supported employment, self help and peer support services.

Provides housing and supportive services aimed at assisting clients who have a psychiatric disability to maintain themselves in the community. Serves Nassau County residents 18 and over with a primary psychiatric diagnosis. For certain locations, individuals must also meet HUD requirements for homelessness. Referral required. OASAS program-primary substance abuse diagnosis and subsequent hospitalization in addition to homelessness.

Operates a Single Point of Access (SPOA) which is a centralized intake process for referrals for high-intensity mental health services for adults who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness (SMI) and whose illness interferes with their ability to function in the community, home, school, and/or work. Referrals are evaluated to determine eligibility for Care Coordination, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) or Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT). Provides case management services to children, adolescents and their families to maximize each youth's potential for growth and emotional stability. Includes an assessment of the child/adolescents strengths and needs and development of a service plan focused on mental health, health, education, recreation, self-care and various other areas related to the young person's functioning. Provides a supportive environment for individuals with mental health disabilities to meet, socialize, share a meal, and explore their community. It is a perfect avenue to practice learned community and life skills through field trips, arts and crafts, music, games and sports.

A social and recreational program providing adults recovering from psychiatric illness with activities and programs to develop the strength and confidence necessary to integrate more successfully into the community. Groups provide social, pre-vocational services, skills, education and information and assist members in developing coping skills.

Provides acute, intense, short-term, inpatient psychiatric treatment to adolescents ages 12-17. Aims to achieve rapid stabilization to make possible ongoing treatment in a less restrictive setting. A variety of behavioral and emotional problems are treated including: anxiety disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders and other disruptive behavior disorders, mood disorders including major depression, bipolar disorders and psychotic disorders. Provides housing in apartments for persons with mental illness, for families with parent(s) living with mental illness, and those living with mental illness and HIV+. Client can access community services, develop skills for daily living when necessary, manage finances, and advocate for themselves.

Provides a court ordered service for the adult clients who are non-compliant with psychiatric medication and as a result decompensate and are deemed unable to live safely in the community. The initial AOT order lasts for six months and if renewed the order could last for another year. Mandated services include, but are not limited to, medication management and case management or ACT. Provides skill-based, group intervention that is aimed at relieving symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression and general anxiety among children exposed to trauma.
