Description

Provides residential treatment services to children and adolescents who suffer serious emotional difficulties 5 to 17 years of age in five homes in Nassau and Suffolk Counties(Bethpage, Farmingdale, Islip, Manorville, and Plainview). Services include counseling, daily living skills, education/vocational support, socialization, family support groups, and family therapy.

Serves the needs of the poor, isolated, disadvantaged, and vulnerable on Long Island, addresses the causes of injustice, and promotes and protects the dignity of human life at all stages. With more than 60 sites, the agency provides alcoholism and substance abuse services, HIV/AIDS care, services for people with physical disabilities, residential services for people with physical disabilities, residential services for people with developmental disabilities, immigrant and refugee services, mental health services, pregnancy and maternity services, senior services, affordable housing, and food and nutrition. In addition, the agency's Parish Social Ministry efforts connect with more than 100 parishes, helping them to develop direct service responses to needs in their communities and to partner with other community groups for organizing and advocacy efforts.
