Eligibility is determined by several factors including income, resources, and willingness to comply with Agency regulations and requirements. Also will assist individuals with "once only" emergency needs if eligible (i.e. prevent an eviction; prevent a utility shut-off; emergency car repair/car insurance to prevent the loss of employment; etc).

Determines eligibility for Medicaid coverage for anyone who is confined to a nursing home.
Assists in applying for New York State sponsored health insurance through Medicaid, as well as Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) and Nursing Home Coverage. Facilitated enrollers help go over paperwork and put together all of the information needed to apply. Helps apply for Medicaid as a supplement to existing coverage such as commercial insurance, Medicare, or VA Healthcare. If eligible, Medicaid can pay for remaining costs that insurance doesn't cover, including co-pays, dental, and prescriptions.
Provides outreach, assistance, and facilitated enrollment, including in-home visits for individuals and families who may qualify for Food Stamps. Can assist with recertification.
Provides payments or reimbursement to maintain family structure or to empower families to deliver items and/or services for disabled family members that are not otherwise fundable.
Provides nutrition education, referral services, and food vouchers for nutritious foods for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and children up to age five. Food vouchers can be used to purchase formula, milk, cheese, eggs, cereal, juices, peanut butter, beans, tuna, fruits, and vegetables. WIC also cooperates with the USDA to provide farmer's market coupons. Eight distribution sites are located throughout Cattaraugus County.
* Gives $500 to 351 people for a whole year. Money is given without any conditions, so there are no special rules to follow or things you must do. You can use the money in any way you like. Choosing people twice to be part of the group - first in July 2023 and then in September 2023. If a person is not picked in July, there is still a chance they could be picked in September.
* Offers child care subsidy.

Home Rehabilitation Programs
Offers temporary help for individuals and families in need while they work towards self sufficiency. Will assist with security deposit or first month's rent, but not both.

Family Assistance (FA) provides money for families with children. Cash benefits are limited to five years in a recipient's lifetime. After five years, a Family Assistance recipient may continue to receive benefits if an adult is disabled and cannot work or may be required to apply for assistance through the Safety Net category.

Safety Net Assistance (SNA) provides money for basic living expenses for single adults and childless couples (or families who have used up their five-year limit of FA). Cash benefits are limited to two years in a recipient's lifetime. After two years, the non-cash Safety Net Assistance voucher system provides benefits.

Emergency Temporary Assistance through Emergency Assistance for Families (EAF) or Emergency Safety Net Assistance (ESNA) provides assistance for crisis situations including evictions, moving expenses, utility shutoffs, and diversion payments to help individuals avoid the need for ongoing assistance. Individuals do not need to be on public assistance to receive Emergency Temporary Assistance.

Handles SNAP appeals/complaints and SNAP fraud reporting.SNAP recipient households that have lost food purchased with SNAP benefits due to household storm damage or power outages are entitled to a replacement issuance of SNAP benefits for July 2024, provided that the household reports the loss within 10 days of the date of loss, and the household returns a signed and completed form "Request for Replacement of Food Purchased with Food Stamp Benefits," within 10 days of the date of the report of loss.
