Project Veterans' Independence is a Catholic Charities program partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our goal is to place homeless veterans into permanent housing and help them live independently within their communities while offering counseling and access to support services. Offers a hotline to ensure that homeless Veterans or Veterans at-risk for homelessness have free, 24/7 access to trained counselors. The hotline is intended to assist homeless Veterans and their families, VA Medical Centers, federal, state and local partners, community agencies, service providers and others in the community.

Provides housing and supportive services aimed at assisting clients who have a psychiatric disability to maintain themselves in the community. Serves Nassau County residents 18 and over with a primary psychiatric diagnosis. For certain locations, individuals must also meet HUD requirements for homelessness. Referral required.
