PROJECT VETERANS' INDEPENDENCE | PROJECT VETERANS' INDEPENDENCE
Project Veterans' Independence is a Catholic Charities program partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our goal is to place homeless veterans into permanent housing and help them live independently within their communities while offering counseling and access to support services. Supportive case management, peer-to-peer support groups and crisis intervention services are available to all clients.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES
Serves the needs of the poor, isolated, disadvantaged, and vulnerable on Long Island, addresses the causes of injustice, and promotes and protects the dignity of human life at all stages. With more than 60 sites, the agency provides alcoholism and substance abuse services, HIV/AIDS care, services for people with physical disabilities, residential services for people with physical disabilities, residential services for people with developmental disabilities, immigrant and refugee services, mental health services, pregnancy and maternity services, senior services, affordable housing, and food and nutrition. In addition, the agency's Parish Social Ministry efforts connect with more than 100 parishes, helping them to develop direct service responses to needs in their communities and to partner with other community groups for organizing and advocacy efforts.
