All requests for assistance via the Prevention & Diversion Program go through an online portal. FEMA may offer Temporary Housing Units such as travel trailers or manufactured housing units. These units are property of FEMA. Occupants may be eligible to stay in these FEMA-provided units for up to 18 months from the date of the disaster declaration while securing a permanent housing plan.
Provides up to $50,000 for qualifying emergency repairs to eligible homeowners impacted by the tornadoes and flooding that occurred across New York State in July 2024. Grants will be awarded based on a scope of work approved by local administrators according to program guidelines. Homeowners in affected regions (see Eligibility below) can apply to receive funding to cover the cost of urgent repairs necessary to bring their home into a safe and habitable condition.
* Offers crisis counseling for all victims of domestic violence. Hotlines for victims, concerned family, friends, and the general community in domestic violence situations or know someone who is. * Offers a shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. No maximum number of children that may be brought into the shelter; if number exceeds beds available, other arrangements will be made. If no beds available, other arrangements can be made. Can provide services for male victims of domestic violence and their children. Collect calls accepted. * Provides advocacy for out-of-county emergency shelter support. * Offers support groups for victims of domestic violence. * Offers Court Advocacy: Court accompaniment with on-site advocate at family court. Help with securing orders of protection. Legal representation. * Personal advocacy to obtain needed services. * Emotional and Transitional Support Services. Information and counseling and support services. * Offers the Domestic Violence Prevention Education Program. For preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, and college students, community youth programs, parents, and businesses. * Provides transportation by police or some other form may be provided as appropriate. * Provides a hotline for Jewish women in domestic violence situations (Sara Line).

Emergency assistance for eligible homeowners and municipalities in seven counties impacted by a series of severe weather events. From July 10th to the 16th, 22 in 2024, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, and flooding which affected multiple Upstate communities.
Serves as a resource and referral network for Long Island Hurricane Sandy survivors to gain access to much needed services such as individual case work, housing assistance and social service supports. Determines eligibility for services and ensures that long term recovery plans are in place. This program is supported through the American Red Cross. Call for further information. Walk ins welcome. Assistance available in American Sign Language, Spanish and Creole.
