FEMA may offer Temporary Housing Units such as travel trailers or manufactured housing units. These units are property of FEMA. Occupants may be eligible to stay in these FEMA-provided units for up to 18 months from the date of the disaster declaration while securing a permanent housing plan.

Affordable Home Ownership Development Program (“AHODP” or “Program”) funding available to non-profit partners which will assist homeowners in the impacted communities. The Program seeks to offer emergency home repair assistance to impacted homeowners for whom FEMA Individual Assistance or other disaster recovery assistance is unavailable.
Newcomers Resource Center an FCA program that will provide immigrants and refugees with a broad array of case management short term counseling, family support, child care and easy access for legal help with critical immigrant concerns, both English and Spanish.

Provides low interest loans to homeowners, renters, and businesses, farmers, and non-profit organizations for the repair or replacement of real or personal property, transportation or rental of equipment to help with recovery, and economic loss. Homeowners may be eligible to borrow up to $200,000 for real property. Renters and homeowners may borrow up to $40,000 for replacement of disaster-damaged property. Businesses may apply for up to $2 million for losses not fully covered by insurance.
Provides free mental health counseling services to all New Yorkers affected by Superstorm Sandy living in Nassau and Suffolk Counties who are age 18 or older. Clinicians travel to meet clients in their homes/temporary residences or at a place of their choosing.
