Provides up to $50,000 for qualifying emergency repairs to eligible homeowners impacted by the tornadoes and flooding that occurred across New York State in July 2024. Grants will be awarded based on a scope of work approved by local administrators according to program guidelines. Homeowners in affected regions (see Eligibility below) can apply to receive funding to cover the cost of urgent repairs necessary to bring their home into a safe and habitable condition.

Offers face-to-face meeting with IRS representatives who need help with tax forms, understanding financial tax laws, or materials needed to fill out forms correctly.

Provides funding to farms and small businesses who are hardest hit by natural disasters. Funding is for building rehabilitation, repair and replace permanent fixtures and equipment, as well as for inventory and working capital.

Serves as a resource and referral network for Long Island Hurricane Sandy survivors to gain access to much needed services such as individual case work, housing assistance and social service supports. Offers comprehensive, integrative healthcare of 9/11-related illnesses for non-FDNY World Trade Center disaster responders. Also screens 9/11 responders who may be eligible for care under the Zagroda Act and WTC victim compensation fund and treats patients suffering from many WTC exposure related conditions. Services provided include: Yearly Monitoring Exams, Treatment for covered 9/11 conditions, Case Management, Advocacy and Education.

Affordable Home Ownership Development Program (“AHODP” or “Program”) funding available to non-profit partners which will assist homeowners in the impacted communities. The Program seeks to offer emergency home repair assistance to impacted homeowners for whom FEMA Individual Assistance or other disaster recovery assistance is unavailable.

Provides the structure to organize mobile operations during an emergency for telecommunications, life support, power generation, operational support, on-site management of disaster/all-hazard activities.

Offers financial assistance, in the form of grants, for eligible customers (businesses, municipalities, large residential establishments, agri-businesses) who were impacted by Hurricane Irene or Tropical Storm Lee.

Provide emergency repair grants for critical home repairs to homeowners who suffered damage to their primary residence during July 9th 2023 flooding event. Eligible work may include repair or replacement of electrical and plumbing systems, heating systems and appliances, flooring, drywall, insulation, windows, doors, siding, and roofing but call for details.

Offers and trains a primary point of contact especially in the low-income areas for terrorism, crime, disasters and emergencies for citizens in their community, to be ready for any type of disaster, to become involved and be with the knowledge and resources necessary to be prepared for disasters, whether they are natural or man-made.

Provides disaster case management for anyone impacted by Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee, or Hurricane Sandy, and still have unresolved issues.

Provides low interest loans to homeowners, renters, and businesses, farmers, and non-profit organizations for the repair or replacement of real or personal property, transportation or rental of equipment to help with recovery, and economic loss. Homeowners may be eligible to borrow up to $200,000 for real property. Renters and homeowners may borrow up to $40,000 for replacement of disaster-damaged property. Businesses may apply for up to $2 million for losses not fully covered by insurance.

Provides free mental health counseling services to all New Yorkers affected by Superstorm Sandy living in Nassau and Suffolk Counties who are age 18 or older. Clinicians travel to meet clients in their homes/temporary residences or at a place of their choosing.

DLS provides confidential, free legal assistance to survivors who need legal help due to a major disaster, but who do not have the means to secure adequate legal services. For individuals seeking DLS, there is no formal application process. Individuals can access these services by contacting the phone number designated for the specific major disaster.

Provides disaster victims with emergency shelter, food, clothing, essential medications, and reassurance to meet immediate needs. Offers assistance for recovery, based on need.
