The Accounting Unit provides administrative and fiscal support to the agency.

Responsible for maintaining over 2,100 miles of town roadway in Brookhaven. Maintenance includes streetlights, repairing potholes, sweeping, drainage projects, road resurfacing, tree trimming and removal, maintenance of recharge basins and installing and maintaining catch basins. Also responsible for snow and ice removal.

Assist the unsheltered in Yonkers with community resources, entry point in pathway to services,. Help by transporting them to Department of Social Services, where they can apply for food stamps and medical or mental health services. They accept donations such as socks, hats, gloves, scarves. No acceptance of clothing (i.e., pants, shirts, undergarments) at this time.

Provides information on town government issues and services.

Provides patrol and other police services to the southern portion of Brookhaven Town, the eastern portion of Islip Town, and the incorporated villages of Patchogue and Bellport. The 5th Precinct hosts open community meetings. The COPE Unit is tasked with addressing various community concerns, including traffic complaints and quality of life issues. COPE officers and the CLO regularly communicate with local community groups and attend local community meetings to spread public safety news and messages. Promotes art and culture in the community. Holds a juried Art Show at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum each October to display the works of local artists age 18 and up. The East Islip Arts Council, a volunteer group promoting art and artists in the community, meets at the library.

Provides one of the most vital units throughout the Sheriff’s office. Throughout the year, Community Relations Unit visits each Suffolk County School District as well as multiple clubs and various organizations. Its main goal is to bridge the gap between Law Enforcement and the members of the Community. CRU is responsible for implementing community outreach and school-based programs, organizing events, and promoting the Sheriff’s mission. The unit offers an array of Community and School-based programs free of charge for all Suffolk County schools, businesses, organizations, non-profits and agencies. Program assists seniors 60 years and over to remain in their own homes after retirement. Residents are provided with case management, information and referral, volunteer services, and medical case management and must live in the catchment area which is a census track in the Greenlawn area and include some sections of Greenlawn, E. Northport and Huntington. Call for an appointment.

Organization for United States armed forces veterans who served overseas in time of war. Promotes patriotism, and the welfare and interest of veterans.

Local government and community services for Spring Valley.

Serves as a statewide voice for more than 700 boards of education. Provides current information and advice on matters affecting school boards. Cooperates with other educational and related organizations to promote excellence in education. Provides advocacy information, leadership development and custom services to public school boards.

Hudson Valley Cancer Resource Center's website is a navigational tool for patients to locate national, regional and local services in the following areas: Financial Assistance, Co-Pay Assistance, Prescription Assistance, Breast Prostheses, Medical Supplies, Lodging During Treatment, Transportation: Air or Ground, Career and Cancer Assistance, Legal Assistance, and Insurance Assistance.

Ensures the health, safety, and welfare of the village residents, while maintaining high quality public services.

Provides individuals and families with social advocacy and support around navigating the complicated world of applying for jobs, social services programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. Under grants from Suffolk County Department of Labor and United Way, will provide paid employment and job training opportunities to youth ages 16 - 20. In partnership with the Urban League, will provide paid employment and on the job training opportunities for adults who are eligible to work under Title V of the Older Americans Act

Governor of New York State

A program for older Chinese people to get together and socialize through various activities, from tai chi exercise, calligraphy, learn English, and play traditional Chinese games.

Receives and investigates complaints from individuals who believe they have been discriminated against under New York State Human Rights Law.

Administers the distribution of NYS disabled parking permits and waivers.

Provides the following services to the blind and visually-impaired and to organizations/individuals working with this audience: information and referral, publications on blindness, data collection and information dissemination, and production of recorded materials for the blind through the Talking Books Program. Conducts a wide variety of programs to support independent living, literacy, employment and access to technology. Advocates for legislation and operates a web site which offers access to an on-line book store, Career Connect(employment planning tool), and Braille Bug(children's web channel for literacy).

Rockland County Executive's office

Processes and maintains all personnel and payroll records. Oversees purchases, expenditures, planning and preparation of the budget, intergovernmental affairs, public information and constituent services (Senior Citizen ID cards, Veteran peddler's licenses) are also the responsibility of the Administrative division, overseen by the Chief Deputy County Clerk.
