Inspire offers evaluative and outpatient services for children with a variety of developmental delays or challenges and runs a highly regarded preschool program for all children. Children who have a developmental disability, are also eligible to receive services in our Article 16 Developmental Disabilities Clinic at 2 Fletcher Street in Goshen. Our Intake Coordinator will help you determine if you can be enrolled.

This program provides both an early intervention and preschool program, which assesses the level of each child's abilities and prepare a program to build on their strengths. Class sizes range from 6-12 children, and offer half and full day sessions.

Offers several resources to help ensure children get a strong start for a healthy life. Programs include: Early Intervention – a voluntary developmental evaluation and services program offered by New York State and administered locally by the Nassau County Department of Health Office for Children with Special Needs; Preschool Special Education - provides services to children who are 3 to 5 years old with developmental delays and/or educational needs; WIC - Special Supplemental Foods Program for Women, Infants and Children. WIC provides nutritious foods as well as nutrition counseling and education for its participants; Lead Poisoning & Prevention – Offers information to prevent lead poisoning in children; Cribs for Kids - providing a safe-sleep education program for parents and caregivers which includes the intervention of a safety-approved crib if the family cannot otherwise afford one; Healthy Moms & Babies - Resource center to promote the well-being of childbearing women, infants, their families and communities.; Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) –provides referrals and information about resources in your community that help benefit children with special health care needs and their families; Child Fatality Review Team - review child deaths to better understand the causes of these deaths and to make recommendations based on the team's findings in order to reduce future child fatalities; and the 4th Trimester – resources to help moms with taking care of themselves with Post-Partum Depression, breast feeding and more. The Early Intervention Program provides services to eligible infants, toddlers and preschool children up to the age of 5 years. The services are provided in the child's natural environment, where the child typically is during the day. This could be the child's home or day care. Parental involvement is very important and all parents are asked to participate to the fullest extent possible.
Provides services to infants and toddlers from birth to 3 years of age who have developmental delays and disabilities. Services include developmental and audiological evaluations, physical, occupational and speech therapies, medical/diagnostic evaluations, and reimbursement for respite services. Also, ensures that children from birth to age three who are at risk for developmental delays have a primary health care provider to complete periodic developmental screenings.
