Early Intervention - Child Find - Cattaraugus County Health Department
Provides evaluations for Cattaraugus County children whose parents have concerns with their child's developmental achievements. Areas of development assessment are: cognitive, physical (including vision and hearing), social/emotional, adaptive development, and communication. After assessment, if the child meets eligibility she or he will receive services through the Early Intervention Program.

Provides comprehensive rehabilitation services consisting of diagnostic, evaluative, and therapeutic services to children with known or suspected disabilities.
Center also supports the Regional Perinatal Center of WNY, and the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Western New York that has the full scope of pediatric subspecialists required to operate a Level III NICU.
Each center or program is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of specialists specifically selected to meet patients' needs. Services are family focused and provided in conjunction with pediatricians and community resources.

Deaf Infant School Program - St. Mary's School for the Deaf
Provides infants and toddlers with hearing loss, communication disorders, and/or multiple disabilities a small class milieu, 2 to 3 days a week, in a Total Communication, Language Rich Environment (LRE). Instruction is language based, and information is presented by voice, sign, pictures, music, and/or using concrete objects. Infants and toddlers have the opportunity, as appropriate, to participate in "special" classes such as music and dance, plus weekly field trips into the community.
Additionally, home visits are scheduled at least once a week with a NYS Certified Teacher of the Deaf to educate family members on communication and other interactive strategies to use at home.
Sign language classes and other support services are available to families through the Parent Center.
