Other individuals not enrolled in Medicaid Managed Care seeking information regarding non-institutional care such as personal care aide services, should call the Home Care Intake Unit at (631) 854-9585. The Independent Consumer Advocacy Network (ICAN) is an independent, conflict-free entity providing Individuals free assistance in accessing care, filing grievances, appealing adverse decisions, and understanding and exercising rights and responsibilities. There are 60 physical locations throughout NYS for in-person assistance, a call center (1-844-614-8800) for the entire state, and a website icannys.org. ICAN currently serves MLTC plan enrollees and mainstream Medicaid managed care enrollees who receive long term care. Call for detailed information.
