TARGET FITNESS WEIGHT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM | TARGET FITNESS WEIGHT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Offers a 12-week Target Fitness Weight Management program for adults with weight management or other health related issues such as Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, or High Cholesterol. Program strives to guide participants to develop research-based skills to facilitate gradual and permanent weight loss through individualized strategies and goals. Registration required. PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT | PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

Oversees 12 acres of park that include Softball fields, Little League fields, Tennis courts, Playground, All Children's Playground, picnic area, Handball Courts, Basketball Court, Skateboard Park, and Soccer/Football fields. Offers recreational programs for all ages including sports, dance, instructional, arts and crafts, bus trips, fitness and exercise and other activities. Programs change seasonally. Conducts numerous programs for the community, school and public organizations throughout Suffolk County, and operates the Suffolk County Tobacco Enforcement Program. The greatest benefit from prevention and education programs is reaped when Suffolk residents make choices in favor of healthy living. Improving health behaviors is beneficial at every age. Staff works with other agencies to design programming and provide education in Suffolk County communities in an effort to prevent disease, disability and premature death. In particular, we are working to reduce behaviors that lead to the development of co-morbidities such as cancer, diabetes obesity and smoking/vaping.
