Conducts a variety of workshops for people of all ages. School-based workshops include staff development workshops, in-classroom workshop, bias awareness, bullying, problem solving, and a three-day peer mediation training workshop for students. Solution Tree provides tested and proven resources to help K-12 educators create safe and caring schools, agencies, and communities where all children succeed. Various prevention-oriented programs are offered, as well as a video for educators titled As Tough As Necessary: A Discipline with Dignity Approach to Countering Aggression, Hostility, and Violence.

Teaches children, in grades K-3, character education and social skills through directed lessons, songs, multi-cultural puppets, stories and activities. Cultural diversity, anger management, conflict resolution, strategies for dealing with bullies and the understanding of emotions are some of the issues that are addressed. Training, in the areas of alcohol, drugs and violence prevention is available. This program is available to schools and agencies.

Provides training to instruct professionals (teachers, social workers, counselors, etc.) on the importance of alcohol, drugs, and violence prevention, prevention techniques and skill building. NYS OASAS approved educator and trainer. Programs and presentations modified for ones needs.

Teaches students how to look for warning signs, signals, and threats, especially in social media, of an individual who may be a threat to themselves or others and to say something to a trusted adult to get help. We want to teach students to understand and recognize warning signs and threats, how to act immediately, take it seriously, understand strategies to take action, and overcome potential barriers to being an “upstander” rather than a “bystander." Offers children in first and second-grade important personal safety lessons while getting them actively involved in the learning process. The McGruff Program seeks to give children the social tools they need to recognize bullying behavior, prevent it from occurring and handle it effectively when confronted with a tough situation whether on the playground, the bus, the lunchroom or playing in the neighborhood. Offers courses required by The New York State Education Department for all applicants for teacher and administrator certifications and students enrolled in teacher/administrator preparation programs. The following workshops are offered: Identifying and Reporting Suspected Child Abuse; Prevention and Intervention of School Violence (SAVE); Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) and Autism Workshop. These workshops are available to Stony Brook University and non-Stony Brook University students.
