CERTIFICATION AND LICENSING WORKSHOPS | STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Offers courses required by The New York State Education Department for all applicants for teacher and administrator certifications and students enrolled in teacher/administrator preparation programs. The following workshops are offered: Identifying and Reporting Suspected Child Abuse; Prevention and Intervention of School Violence (SAVE); Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) and Autism Workshop. These workshops are available to Stony Brook University and non-Stony Brook University students. If you are not a Stony Brook University student, please consult with your school's teacher certification advisor or the NYSED website for specific certification requirements prior to enrolling in a workshop. All workshops are offered numerous times throughout the year. These workshops are delivered in an online-only format. Registration fees are subject to change dependent upon university rates. Is home to Stony Brook University’s professional, executive and continuing education programs. The School oversees all teacher and leader certification programs and through its collaborations with school districts, Teacher Centers, BOCES, and other organizations, SPD serves as a leading resource for educators across the region. Beyond the K-12 level, SPD has Higher Education Administration programs designed to provide the academic preparation and credentials necessary for college and university professionals to enhance their expertise and advance their careers. In addition to education programs, SPD also offers graduate degree and advanced certificates in human resource management, operations research and coaching. We also have an extensive array of non-credit, career development and corporate training programs as well as outreach programs for teachers, administrators and lifelong learners. Courses meet online, on campus in the evening, on weekends, and on-site through our organizational parterships. Fully online students may take individual courses or complete one of several degree and advanced graduate certificate programs.
