Services include in-school weekly advisement, mentoring, tutoring, college visits, SAT/ACT prep classes, cultural activities, a 6 week summer program, workshops, and financial aid advisement.

Sponsored jointly with the state of New York, Arthur O. Eve HEOP allows NYIT to achieve its mission of providing educational opportunity to all qualified students. We assist students who may have financial and academic hardship and would otherwise be unable to earn a college degree. After school program that focuses on academics, life skills, and career and college exploration. Teens participate in classroom and group lessons in a safe environment. Summer program is for 6 weeks and during the six week period, Monday-Thursday (or four days a week), the students work at the designated internship site and Fridays (or 1 day a week) the students work on life skills, career and college exploration.

Services include enrichment courses in math, science, engineering, technology; tutoring; academic advisement; internships; counseling; SAT preparation workshops; college admissions and financial aid seminars; and career planning activities. Program staff provide services during the summer as well as throughout the academic year. Offers tutoring positions to undergraduate students in their sophomore through senior years as well as to graduate students at Buffalo State College.

Offers tutoring programs at a number of locations. On-Track Tutoring: Available for small group (1:5 ratio) or one-to-one tutoring to any student or any grade in Chautauqua County. SAFARI Program: Available to students at Jamestown High School at no cost to families. Students can schedule small group and one-to-one tutoring sessions during their school day. 21st Century/After School Program: Tutors in this program provide in-person academic interventions to students in the Jamestown district, grades K-8 at Love, Ring, Bush, Lincoln, and Fletcher Elementary Schools and Washington and Jefferson Middle Schools. Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP): Run through Jamestown Community College, this program prepares high school students to succeed in post-secondary education or training. The program helps the class of 2028 Jamestown and Dunkirk students into their first year of college. Services include free tutoring services during and after school, assistance explore personalized college and career possibilities and applying for financial aid. SAT and Regents Prep available depending on enrollment needs. Striders tutors are also available at the Boys & Girls Club after school program, Monday-Thursday.

Serves the unemployed and underemployed community of Erie County through our STEPS Program Initiative. We identify employment opportunities from local employers and match them with skilled workers. Serves the educational and training needs of the community through college prep services and FAFSA submission assistance.

Higher education for educationally and economically challenged teens and young adults through counseling, workshops, financial support, which empower young people to take positive steps to improve their lives. preparation for GED exam, life skills training, pre-employment training, job placement, and referral services for students who are at risk, having problems staying in school, dropouts, or are involved in minor crimes.

This program focuses primarily on low income, first generation high school juniors and seniors. The program is designed to enable participants to reach challenging academic standards so that they enroll into college and/or remain in college through graduation.

Offers a variety of fun and educational activities for local youth, to encourage reading and make learning fun, including homework help, arts and crafts and more. College Counseling is also provided to those who are at the beginning, middle or end stages and needs suggestions of a college plan.

The free TRIO EOC program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, hosted at SUNY Genesee Community College (GCC) provides free support to aid community members in applying to, funding and enrolling in further education. The purpose of the program is to help participants achieve their educational and career goals. Staff are knowledgeable and skilled in the fields of high school equivalencies, higher education applications and processes, state and federal financial aid, veteran and family-of-veteran education benefits, and scholarship opportunities available at the local, state, and national levels. Program offers individualized one-on-one appointments with highly-trained Outreach Specialists who can assist with: - College and trade school applications - Financial aid applications and scholarship searches - High school equivalency options - Career counseling and vocational training options - Educational opportunities for veterans - Financial literacy and planning Although hosted by SUNY GCC, the program does not recruit on behalf of the college, per grant requirement. Designed to provide the opportunity of a college education to capable students who are historically disadvantaged due to limited financial resources and inadequate academic preparation. EOP students are provided ongoing support services and resources to help insure their collegiate success. Once admitted to the college via EOP, students have access to a myriad of services including but not limited to academic, pre-professional and personal counseling; tutoring; workshops; advocacy; and supplemental financial support. The Educational Opportunity Program is committed to excellence and seeks students who are truly motivated and willing to work hard to achieve their goals. Eligible students for the EOP program are students who are: Students who are residents of New York State; Students who have a high school diploma or its equivalent; Students who do not meet the regular admissions requirements of SUNY Farmingdale, but fall within the range of EOP standards and demonstrate academic potential; Students who are historically disadvantaged and meet the economic guidelines of eligibility as established by the Office of Special Programs in Albany and Students of all ethnic origins, if the above requirements are met, and meet the 2023-24 Income Guidelines specified.
