Higher education for educationally and economically challenged teens and young adults through counseling, workshops, financial support, which empower young people to take positive steps to improve their lives. preparation for GED exam, life skills training, pre-employment training, job placement, and referral services for students who are at risk, having problems staying in school, dropouts, or are involved in minor crimes.

Offers guidance to teenagers and young adults who want to go to college or technical school, including with help searching for financial assistance. Also provides pre-job training with interview skills, resume writing, entering the military, etc.

* Provides individuals with all types of disabilities and their families with information, navigation assistance, and linkages to resources.* Provides college access information and assistance for students with developmental disabilities.* Works with local agencies, school districts, and colleges on disability issues.

Provides tutors and other support services to low income or first generation high school students, to complete high school and prepare them to enroll in college.

Provides help for students with special needs on preparing for college entrance exams. Services include practice tests, study habit and learning styles evaluation, and vocation/careers assessment.

Offers various programs to support students, such as helping high school seniors transition from high school to college life, including prevention-related workshops for 6th and 7th graders, and social skills training for 8th grade students.

Offers a variety of fun and educational activities for local youth, to encourage reading and make learning fun, including homework help, arts and crafts and more. College Counseling is also provided to those who are at the beginning, middle or end stages and needs suggestions of a college plan.

* Offers a college attainment program that helps primarily first-generation college students enroll and stay in college. Services include support with college and financial aid applications, advisement, limited financial assistance, transportation to and from college, and provision of college supplies.* Provides a career training program for participants of the On Point for College program that assists students in getting summer internships or permanent jobs.

Represents a cooperative effort between the Suffolk County Community College and the Longwood Central School District, governmental agencies and business and industry to provide a unique, comprehensive and supportive environment for students for students who may be at risk of dropping out of school. LPP is funded by a grant from the New York State Education Department. The Liberty Partnerships Program serves those students in grades 7-12 who may not be reaching their academic potential by providing academic services that will improve their ability to complete high school and successfully enter postsecondary education or the workforce. LPP students who are juniors and seniors are also eligible to enroll in a two-semester program that leads successful students to one college credit upon completion. This offering contains a one-semester non-credit course that focuses on reading, writing, study skills, critical thinking and computer skills. The second semester course exposes students to topics of interest to college students and enhances their basic research skills. Additional credit-bearing courses are offered to students who successfully complete this sequence. Ladders to Success, located at FCA's Learning Center, will prepare identified High School students in Mathematics, Algebra, Reading and English to attain the placement test scores they need to avoid remedial classes and immediately access credit-bearing classes at Nassau Community College and beyond. Services include Mentoring and counseling, tutoring to prepare for the accuplacer test, career readiness and vocational planning services, financial aid and FAFSA application assistance, guidance throughout the college application process from start to finish. Workshop learning topics include: dealing with anxieties, mindfulness, bullying, cultural diversity, and more.

Offers a wide array of courses selected to meet the educational, vocational, cultural and recreational needs and interests of adult residents of the community. Offers a Summer Pre-College Program that is open to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school. The summer program features an updated curriculum that will allow students to explore an academic area of interest, participate in college preparedness workshops, and discover all that Adelphi University has to offer. Students will experience Adelphi’s personalized approach to education and enroll in our Summer Pre-College programs, which include residential credit-bearing experiences on our Garden City campus; You will work with our professors and instructors, and meet with experts in the field and You will go on exciting off-campus trips, including to nearby New York City. Provides career counseling to individuals to help them with appropriate job choices based on skills and knowledge, which includes helping them with the process of going back to school (how to apply, financial aid, trade school or college, etc.)

Designed to provide the opportunity of a college education to capable students who are historically disadvantaged due to limited financial resources and inadequate academic preparation. EOP students are provided ongoing support services and resources to help insure their collegiate success. Once admitted to the college via EOP, students have access to a myriad of services including but not limited to academic, pre-professional and personal counseling; tutoring; workshops; advocacy; and supplemental financial support. The Educational Opportunity Program is committed to excellence and seeks students who are truly motivated and willing to work hard to achieve their goals. Eligible students for the EOP program are students who are: Students who are residents of New York State; Students who have a high school diploma or its equivalent; Students who do not meet the regular admissions requirements of SUNY Farmingdale, but fall within the range of EOP standards and demonstrate academic potential; Students who are historically disadvantaged and meet the economic guidelines of eligibility as established by the Office of Special Programs in Albany and Students of all ethnic origins, if the above requirements are met, and meet the 2023-24 Income Guidelines specified.
