Sponsored jointly with the state of New York, Arthur O. Eve HEOP allows NYIT to achieve its mission of providing educational opportunity to all qualified students. We assist students who may have financial and academic hardship and would otherwise be unable to earn a college degree. Depending on your needs and circumstances, we may offer financial assistance for tuition, books, transportation, and some personal expenses. You may also receive academic and personal counseling, study skills training, tutoring, and career counseling. If you are accepted to Arthur O. Eve HEOP at NYIT, you will have an outstanding opportunity to take charge of your future. You will take on some important responsibilities, including: Attending a five-week, full-time summer program before you begin your first year at NYIT. This program focuses on strengthening reading, writing, math, and study skills. The curriculum also includes cultural trips, seminars on social adjustments, and a variety of leadership workshops. Carrying a full-time course load during the fall and spring semesters each year at NYIT. Regularly attending all classes. Participating in tutoring and group and individual counseling sessions as recommended or assigned. Committing your full attention and dedication to the goals of completing your degree.
