PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION RESEARCH AND COUNSELING CLINIC | JOAN AND ARNOLD SALTZMAN COMMUNITY SERVICES CENTER

Provides diagnostic evaluations and psychological services to adults, adolescents, children and families of diverse cultural backgrounds who are having, behavioral, emotional, learning or adjustment problems. Emphasis is placed on clarifying problem areas, developing realistic goals and providing active short-term treatment. The full psychological evaluation consists of a biographical data review, psychological testing and assessment, an interpretive conference and a written report. Psychotherapeutic programs for behavior change include: Anger management, stress reduction, parent skills training, marriage and family counseling, and counseling for adults and children who have been abused. Consultation with school districts and other professional organizations are also available to develop programs within school and professional settings. WISE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM | STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY

Provides multi-faceted programs designed for high school students who show academic promise or interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through collaboration with Eastern Suffolk BOCES. WISE aims to encourage students to pursue STEM by linking Stony Brook University graduate and faculty mentors with to high school students. Mentors work closely with H.S. WISE students in their field of expertise to provide hands-on experiences. H.S. WISE is a three-year program that focuses on a different aspect of STEM learning and research each year. DIGITAL HEALTH CERTIFICATE | ADELPHI UNIVERSITY - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL AND CONTINUING STUDIES

Offers a certificate program, where you will be introduced to this exciting new era of healthcare. You’ll learn about the latest trends in digital health, such as the role of artificial intelligence, predictive analytics and robotics, data visualization and virtual and augmented reality, smart healthcare platforms, m-health, and telemedicine and you’ll learn new skills through hands-on, interactive exercises. Please note this workshop is part of an online, asynchronous workshop, meaning it takes place online, on your own time. There are no live meetings, either in person or online. YOGA TEACHER CERTIFICATION | MICHAEL J. GRANT CAMPUS

Offers a Yoga Alliance Approved 200-Hour Teacher Training course. This 200-hour course is offered in two parts, over two semesters. This program includes asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation, and other traditional yoga techniques. This course will be comprised of analytical training in how to teach and practice the techniques and guided practice of these techniques. This is a Yoga Alliance approved yoga course. LONG ISLAND HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS PROGRAM | HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY SUMMER CAMP

Offered together The Hofstra University/LIHSA summer partnership provides an unparalleled experience for students in Grades 7-12 to be guided by faculty mentors and staff who understand the unique needs of young artists. These classes are held on the LIHSA campus. LIHSA’s facilities are specially designed to support the school’s mission. LIHSA’s 38,000 square feet across three buildings are filled with professional workspaces and facilities. It is situated on 4.5 acres in Syosset Long Island, with plenty of courtyard space to have a picnic lunch and draw artistic inspiration. With four dance studios on campus, a larger theatre that holds 350 audience members with lighting and sound equipment, two smaller black box theatres, an audio-recording studio, numerous classroom spaces, practice rooms, art studios, film editing room, dark room, digital music space and a carpentry shop for scenic design, it is a great place to spend for a young artist to spend their summer. Programs are flexible; choose to enroll in a one week offering or combine several to be on campus for all four weeks. Providing free screenings, education and referrals to communities across Long Island. We partner with organizations in both Nassau County and Suffolk County to reach children, adults and seniors. Participants in our Courtesy Borrowing program are eligible to borrow library books at all campus libraries. Other resources such as interlibrary loan, off-campus access to databases and recalls may not available to guest borrowers. Individuals wishing to have borrowing privileges at Stony Brook University Libraries may have guest borrowing privileges by completing a Community Borrower Program Card Application.
