Offers a full-time camp program located in the state of the art Children's Center where your child, ages 5 - 8 (must have completed Kindergarten) will enjoy a fully air conditioned indoor space, complete with an indoor gym that boasts a big screen with surround sound for those inclement weather days. Outdoor areas include their own separate play area with climbing structures, basketball and volleyball courts. Additionally, the college campus offers a variety of other spaces to kick a ball or visit the gardens. Outdoor water play is available daily. Each week includes a special trip to some great places on Long Island. Previous trips have included charter fishing, Adventureland, K'Zam, Cantiague Water Park, and the Atlantis Aquarium. Our weekly themes bring our days to life as we explore such topics as science, sports and the world around us. Camp runs Monday through Friday and the hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Extended care is available before and after camp from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. at an additional cost per hour / per day. Offers classes in the English Language, Foreign Languages, and American Sign Language. NCC's Language Center English Language Skills classes are specifically designed for non-Native English speakers. New English Language students or students who have not attended our English classes for one year or more should take the LC assessment test so we can place you into the correct class level. English Language classes are designed to meet different student needs. The core curriculum includes: Introduction to the English Language and English Language Skills, levels 1-6. In addition to our core classes, English language students may take elective classes like Pronunciation Skills, Personal Writing Skills, TOEFL Preparation or Conversation Skills. The Language Center is proud to offer a variety of foreign languages for study as well as American Sign Language. Offers a Coaches & Teachers Assistant Program (CTAP) for campers in grades 10-12. This program combines the fun of being a participant with important life skills such as leadership, personal development, team-work, and communication; all under the watchful eyes of our experienced educators and coaches. Working with guidance from our camp and program director(s), CTAP participants will observe and assist in all aspects of the camp program and daily activities, whilst receiving performance feedback in a constructive environment, helping to build self-confidence and interpersonal skills. CTAP participants will be assigned a program for a given camp session from the CTAP director and camp administrative staff. Program placement can/will vary through the summer to provide a well-balanced experience, and although requests can be made, there are no guarantees for specific program placement for all enrolled weeks, but we will do our best to ensure a great experience.
