The program provides crisis intervention, accompaniment to criminal and family court, police, District Attorney's office, forensic rape exam. Serves as a liaison to the Nassau County Multi Disciplinary Team and service providers. Assists in completing Crime Victim's Compensation.

Provides crisis intervention and support services to survivors of sexual assault and their families. Services include a 24-hour hotline; crisis intervention for sexual assault survivors and their significant others; short-term counseling; support through medical examinations and treatment; advocacy and support during interaction with law enforcement; court accompaniment; individual consultations with professionals; community education programs; professional training programs; and referrals for additional needed services.

Provides crisis intervention and support for victims of family violence, elder abuse, rape, and sexual assault. Offers safe, confidential services including counseling, safety-planning, court advocacy, and referrals. Also provides comprehensive domestic violence, sexual assault, teen dating violence, elder abuse, and bullying prevention programs available for schools, community groups, women's groups, scouting troops, and other interested groups.

Serves survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence ages 16 and older and their dependent children. Anyone feeling unsafe in a relationship can call or chat using the confidential hotline, operated by trained, compassionate staff available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide information and support. Services provided include confidential domestic violence shelter, supportive counseling, legal and court advocacy, assistance obtaining orders of protection, safety planning, parenting after violence service, education and support groups, transitional housing, and rapid rehousing. This series uses a trauma-informed care model in a group setting to cover parenting issues and symptomology related to custody, separation/divorce, co-parenting, parallel parenting, foster care placements, etc. Also provides community trainings to inform and educate Western New Yorkers to recognize the signs of domestic violence and to better understand different forms of abuse. Works directly with Chautauqua County’s prosecuting attorneys to ensure a victim’s voice is heard in the courtroom. Provides direct services to crime victims, including but not limited to court accompaniment/advocacy, assistance with NYS Office of Victim Services compensation applications, assistance with writing impact statements and opposition letters, victim notification and information on criminal prosecution, as well as community referrals and education throughout the criminal justice process.

Offers a 24-hour crisis intervention hotline providing advocacy at all hours for victims of sexual assault. Programming also includes transportation, court accompaniment and preparation, individual and group counseling, community education, primary prevention, crime victim compensation assistance through NYS Office of Victim Services, and outreach to rural victims of sexual assault.

Trained counselors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide information and support, enabling clients to make informed choices concerning medical, legal, and counseling needs, while offering advocacy and information about their rights. Counselors offer short-term counseling (6-8 sessions); medical, legal, and court accompaniment; crisis intervention for sexual assault survivors and their significant others; support through medical examinations and treatment; advocacy and support during interaction with law enforcement; individual consultations with professionals; community education programs; professional training programs; and referrals for additional needed services. Provides Niagara County domestic violence victims access to services and entry into the criminal justice system through early intervention to provide the safety and support. Every Domestic Incident Report filed with law enforcement agencies is acted upon shortly after an incident occurs. The Victim Services Coordinator and Crime Victim Advocates provide support and advocacy which includes: - Safety planning - Danger Assessment - Referrals to appropriate services - Court accompaniment - Meetings with District Attorney staff - Assistance in obtaining Orders of Protection

Provides non-residential services to victims of Domestic Violence. Services include safety planning, basic counseling, case management, hospital accompaniment, domestic violence awareness/education, temporary assistance waivers/housing assistance, transportation, and referrals for immigrant/immigration services, safe dwelling/shelter, legal assistance, and other relevant supportive services. Also provides court advocacy including help with preparation and filing of Family Court documents such as orders of protection and custody, and will accompany victims to court upon request. All services continue to be available after hours via the Orleans County Sheriff's Dispatch.

The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office (NCDA) recognizes that crime victims and their families, and witnesses to crimes, need support and information at every stage of a criminal proceeding. VSU is staffed by Crime Victim Advocates and Legal Interpreters, who are assigned to various Bureaus throughout the office. VSU assists victims, witnesses and their families, in navigating the criminal justice system and the process of a criminal case being prosecuted by the NCDA. Mediation services are designed as an alternative to court to handle civil or minor criminal issues and disputes such as family conflicts, neighbor-to-neighbor disputes, consumer-merchant problems, landlord-tenant complaints and student-to-student or student-to-teacher disputes. Settlements are intended to avoid future conflict without placing blame or guilt. Agreements are binding and enforceable by courts. Special eviction prevention program assists landlords and tenants before the court on eviction petitions. Provides consultation and training to schools for conflict resolution curriculum and peer mediation programs.
