Project Veterans' Independence is a Catholic Charities program partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our goal is to place homeless veterans into permanent housing and help them live independently within their communities while offering counseling and access to support services. Supportive case management, peer-to-peer support groups and crisis intervention services are available to all clients.

Provides permanent, supportive housing for 60 homeless veterans and homeless veteran families.

Offers a hotline to ensure that homeless Veterans or Veterans at-risk for homelessness have free, 24/7 access to trained counselors. The hotline is intended to assist homeless Veterans and their families, VA Medical Centers, federal, state and local partners, community agencies, service providers and others in the community.

Provides outreach, food, clothing and housing. Also provides assistance in completing applications and transportation to placements, individualized assessment for crisis support, transitional care coordination, short term case management, transportation to Social Services, advocacy assistance and referrals.

Provides housing units for homeless veterans with disabilities and low income individuals and families. Services include medication management, crisis intervention, case management, assistance with medical concerns, community integration, life skills training, employment assistance, parenting skills training, financial management, education assistance, and advocacy. Provides case management, referral services and temporary financial assistance to Veterans and their families who are homeless or at risk for homelessness.
