Provides trauma psychotherapy and bereavement counseling to family members.

Provides free legal assistance to veterans and their families. The clinic gives priority to matters that will prevent or relieve homelessness or remove barriers to the reintegration of veterans into civilian life. Typical matters handled in the clinic include: Landlord-tenant/eviction; Debt relief/collection; Bankruptcy; Mortgage Foreclosure; Driver’s license restoration; Child support modification; Unemployment insurance; Warrants and fines; Income tax; Benefits applications and appeals and Discharge upgrades. All representation is free of charge and strictly confidential. Representation is provided by upper-level law students, working under the close supervision of experienced lawyers who are clinical professors. There is no charge for clinic representation. However, the clinics have limited resources and cannot take every case, no matter how deserving. Clinic staff members meet with potential clients by appointment only. Serves the veterans of Brookhaven by gathering and providing information of benefits offered by the VA, State, County and local governments. This includes, but is not limited to matters pertaining to educational training, employment, health and medical services.

Confidential crisis support for current or former U.S. military personnel and their families.

Provides telephone crisis intervention services for individuals who are having suicidal thoughts and feelings. Can also help individuals dealing with the loss of a loved one through suicide. All calls are routed to the closest possible crisis center of the individual calling through one, toll-free, 24 hour number.

Provides community services, free counseling and claims assistance for honorably discharged veterans and their dependents. Also administer a number of programs on the national level such as Amvets Against Drugs and Alcohol Abuse, Freedoms Foundation Youth Leadership Seminar, National Coalition for Homeless Vets (NVHV), ROTC, Scholarships and the Department of Veterans Affairs Voluntary Services (VABS).

Provides three residential treatment facilities exclusively for veterans struggling with chemical dependency, post-traumatic stress disorder and other life challenges. They are located in Manhattan, Richmond Hill, Queens, and Ellenville NY. The Ellenville facility is dedicated to female veterans and offers gender-specific treatment at a safe and encouraging environment for women veterans. Also operates the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) which provides community-based housing assistance and support services for at-risk veterans and their families. These services include temporary financial assistance, housing counseling, legal service referrals, daily living services, personal financial planning and transportation services.

The MS Centers of Excellence are dedicated to further the understanding of the disease, its impact on Veterans, and effective treatments to help manage MS symptoms. By partnering with Veterans, caregivers, and health care providers we hope to minimize disease impairment and increase the quality of life for Veterans with MS. Our goals are to improve the quality and consistency of health services delivered to veterans with MS across the country.

Provides transitioning veterans regular one-on-one sessions with a financial coach in order to link their goals and values to their financial dreams, create an action plan and track progress toward the goals mutually set by them.

Provides a national hotline and online chat center for veterans at risk of homelessness and their families.

Provides emergency relief to help cover expenses such as utility bills, mortgage and rent payments, car payments and repairs, auto insurance, home repair, food and household supplies, medical bills and copayments. Also offers Holiday financial assistance.

Offers veterans, including those with PTSD, support meetings, networking opportunities, creativity and job preparation workshops and social activity experience to promote a healthy transition back to civilian life. A particular focus is placed upon helping veterans showcase their talent and share their experiences through the arts, art shows, photography, music, dance and theatrical events.

Provides psychotherapy to veterans who have experienced war related trauma. Offers emotional support, individual, group and family support, counseling for military sexual trauma and bereavement, and medical referrals.

Offers 24/7 hotline for veterans, Active Duty Service personnel and their families and friends who are in emotional crisis. The trained call specialist has the capability of connecting the veteran to his or her local VA Suicide Prevention Coordinator for priority follow-up.

Provides mental health services to active duty service members, National Guard and Reserve forces, and veterans who have separated or retired from any branch of military service. Also serves family members and loved one of those who have served in the military.Mental health professionals commit to provide free care for a minimum of one hour per week for one year. Clients are not required to provide insurance information or any other form of payment for the services rendered from Give an Hour volunteer mental health professionals.
