Oversees 12 acres of park that include Softball fields, Little League fields, Tennis courts, Playground, All Children's Playground, picnic area, Handball Courts, Basketball Court, Skateboard Park, and Soccer/Football fields. Offers recreational programs for all ages including sports, dance, instructional, arts and crafts, bus trips, fitness and exercise and other activities. Programs change seasonally. Brochures are available tri-annually at the Center or on the web. Call for schedule and fees.

The Jewish Genetic Disease Program provides education, genetic screening, genetic counseling and clinical services for individuals or families commonly affected by these diseases. Fanconi Anemia (Type C), Tay-Sachs Disease, Canavan Diseases, Niemann-Pick Disease, Bloom Syndrome,Mucolipodosis (Type lV), Gaucher Disease (Type l), Familial Dysautonomia and Cystic Fibrosis are among the many genetic diseases that have been tested.

YOUTH BUREAU | TOWN HALL WEST

Plans, coordinates and evaluates the activities of public, private and nonprofit agency services devoted to youth under age 21 within the town. To accomplish this, the Youth Bureau finds three community-based youth service agencies. They provide counseling, tutoring, mentoring, job readiness, after school program, leadership programs, volunteer activities, drop-in lounge, open gyms and summer day and evening programs. The Youth Bureau also oversees the Islip Town Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs. Room 312.
