Project Veterans' Independence is a Catholic Charities program partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our goal is to place homeless veterans into permanent housing and help them live independently within their communities while offering counseling and access to support services. Adult volunteer mentors give these children special one-on-one attention in a one-to-one, professionally supported relationship, monitored by dedicated case manager. Volunteers are screened and trained. Also match the special needs children with volunteers whenever appropriate.
