MENTORING PROGRAM | MENTORING PROGRAM

Offers children in need the friendship and guidance of caring adult volunteers. Provides academic tutoring, athletics programs, arts and crafts, and vocational instruction. Requests adult volunteer commit for at least four hours per month, weekly or bi-weekly.

Offers a variety of recreational activities for ages 5 and up. Programs include afterschool tutoring, senior citizens, holiday crafts and summer programs. Oversees 12 acres of park that include Softball fields, Little League fields, Tennis courts, Playground, All Children's Playground, picnic area, Handball Courts, Basketball Court, Skateboard Park, and Soccer/Football fields. Offers recreational programs for all ages including sports, dance, instructional, arts and crafts, bus trips, fitness and exercise and other activities. Programs change seasonally. GYMNASTICS PROGRAMS | GYMNASTICS PROGRAMS

Offers: Parent/Child Gymnastics program for children ages 2-3 1/2 with parent, Tots Gymnastics for 3 1/2-5 years old, and Munchkin Gymnastics for children ages 5-7 years old, each in four once-weekly sessions. Conducts age-appropriate activities. Also conducts Gymnastics Camp for 8-18 years old at all levels of experience. Provides instruction in all phases of gymnastics. BASEBALL PROGRAMS | BASEBALL PROGRAMS

Conducts two camp programs, regular camp for boys 7-11 years old and advanced camp for boys 12-15 years old. Camp provides instruction and practice aided by high-tech equipment. Offers scholarships to deserving youngsters. Also conducts Saturday clinic for boys ages 7-11 years old, starting in September. Clinic offers modified T-ball/counselor pitching for beginners and intermediate players in either morning or afternoon sessions. Call for additional details.

CHILDREN'S RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM - SMITHTOWN | DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES INSTITUTE

Provides residential services to developmentally disabled individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors. These homes are located on both the main campus in Smithtown and DDI's Huntington Campus. Children in residence attend Developmental Disabilities Institute Day School and then return to their residence where supervised recreation and daily living activities continue.

Offers workshop for children ages 5-8 and 9-12 (parents included). This program provides education and support to families. Topics include building healthy friendships, communication skills, understanding and expressing feelings, dealing with teasing and bullies, and more. Discussion groups, creative arts, games and hands-on activities are utilized to increase understanding and strengthen social skills. The Parent Component offers support and guidance to parents, and provides practical skills for helping their child in a variety of situations.
