Provides medical care, education, counseling, and support for children and adolescents with sickle cell disease, thalassemia and other hemoglobin disorders. Exists within the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, which is part of the Department of Pediatrics and is affiliated with the SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Training to become certified as a Mental Health First Aid responder (8 hours), Basic " Mental Health 101" the essentials of Mental Health and Wellness for all.

Provides education and training of drug and alcohol counselors and offers education to the general public on topics such as parenting, depression, racism, mental health and homophobia. Appointment required. Serves all age groups.

Promotes mental health and improving the lives of family members or significant others through advocacy education, reassurance and support.

Provides information on HIV/AIDS and its prevention to community members, schools, and professionals through workshops and individual conferences. Makes referrals to appropriate agencies, and provides training through a faith-based initiative.

MICHC will provide education, outreach, home visitation, referrals and follow-up to improve the general health and well-being of women and infants, with a focus on family planning and self-sufficiency. The program will engage women and link families to health and other supportive services in the targeted communities of Newburgh, Middletown and Port Jervis.

Offers social and educational programs, dancing, arts and crafts instruction, exercise, parties and guest speakers.

Provides rapid HIV testing results within 20-30 minutes and gives referrals to support services as needed. Also provides AID/HIV counseling, along with educational and awareness programs.

Offerings include 3-hour course on creating Safe Spaces; trainings on gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth issues; consultations for school districts on inclusive school environments.

Fosters and preserves active and open avenues of communication between the Department and the diverse communities which it serves. Independent Living provides a bridge between the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing cultures in Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Dutchess Counties, this program is actively engaged in community outreach and education, employment, advocacy, service coordination, counseling and technical support.

Offers workshops, seminars, and conferences on various environmental topics which help educate and give ideas for individuals and businesses to become environmentally conscience in daily/business practices.

Offers educational services to provide mental health information through presentations, workshops, training, online access and printed information.

Offers musical performances and programs including concerts, handicap awareness programs and music workshops and seminars.

Provides prevention and youth development programs, education and referral to general youth populations, as well as those identified as high risk.

An outreach program to help improve and maintain personal health and environmental living conditions. The goal of the program is to promote healthy neighborhoods by keeping residents aware of the variety of medical, social and environmental services available to them locally. Outreach staff visit residents, at the residents request, an inspection of their home is also performed to be sure that no environmental health hazards or problems exist. If environmental health hazards or problems do exist, our staff will direct them to the agency best able to help.

Provides people in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease/dementia and their caregivers education programs and social activities that improve relationships, increase confidence and decrease emotional triggers. Programs vary, but can include; early-stage educational programs, support groups, meetups, and social engagement programs such as Memory Cafes and exercise programs.

Monitors reports of West Nile Disease and provides information about prevention techniques.

This program has 4 components: Gardening - 6 gardens provide fresh produce for local residents who participate in clean-ups, planning, harvesting, and other garden activities.School and Community-based environmental education. Enviro-Earth Club - which cultivates local environmental leaders by educating and motivating urban youth about gardening and the environment, while promoting health eating and living among the participants and their families.Special Community Events such as barbeques, art projects and street fairs.
