Responsible for Street Lighting. Drainage, and Highway maintenance of 450 miles of town-owned roads which cover the area from Eastport to East Hampton outside of the five incorporated villages.

Maintains recharge basins and drainage structures under town jurisdiction. Responsibilities include ice control and snow removal, street leaf collections and sweeping program, highway engineering, street lighting and the Sign Shop.

Supervises the construction repair and maintenance of all roads, sidewalks, bridges, municipal parking areas, recharge basins and drainage structures and systems. Responsibilities include sand spreading, snow and street debris removal, maintenance of the safety of town roads by installing and maintaining traffic signals, street signs, pavement markings and street lights.

Oversees all public streets and sewers, public parking, all matters affecting the street and traffic lighting, signage, maintenance, recycling, and plantings.

Responsible for the physical upkeep and maintenance of all properties and roadways belonging to the City. Responsible for maintaining over 2,100 miles of town roadway in Brookhaven. Maintenance includes streetlights, repairing potholes, sweeping, drainage projects, road resurfacing, tree trimming and removal, maintenance of recharge basins and installing and maintaining catch basins. Also responsible for snow and ice removal.

Responsibilities include design, installation and maintenance of street lights, signs, traffic signals and pavement markings on town roads. Makes recommendations on improvement of traffic safety. Compiles studies of road conditions, capacity, speeds and accident history. Reviews site plan and subdivision applications, assesses traffic impact of development and makes recommendations for traffic improvements internal to the sites and at public points of access to town roads.

Maintains highways, buildings and grounds, parks and beaches, street lights and regulatory signs for the town of Southold.

Oversees the maintenance and safety of all town roads. Also directs the operation of public parking, drainage, street lighting and curbside tree planting and removal.

Has exclusive charge and supervision of the design, construction, repair, maintenance and cleaning of all streets and bridges under the jurisdiction of Nassau County, It has charge and supervision of the design and construction of county buildings, parks and grounds, drains and drainage structures, and of sewers, sewage disposal plants, water system and other structures in the nature of Public Works as the county may construct.
