Landlord / Tenant Assistance
Provides intervention on behalf of tenants to prevent homelessness and to assist those who are homeless. This includes assistance in finding affordable housing, advocacy and dispute resolution in landlord/tenant matters, assist tenants in money management and household budgeting. Referrals are made to programs such as: HEAP, SECTION 8, Social Services, and Public Housing. Assistance with applications to these programs are provided, particularly, for those with language and cultural barriers.

Collaborates via a coalition of various groups, individuals, and families which come together to work on ways to advocate support for the homeless.
Our mission is to aggressively advocate and provide a full range of appropriate services for homeless families and dependents. NANA'S House provides temporary housing, intensive services, and education, as well as ongoing case management and social work. We also provide toys during the holidays for ALL children in our community who would otherwise have nothing under the tree on Christmas morning.

Services include free laundry facilities, showers, haircuts, personal hygiene products. Advocates for community resources for the homeless of Nassau and Suffolk Counties including the development of emergency, transitional and permanent low cost housing. Provides opportunities for agencies to present current issues facing Long Island's homeless and educates professionals about available services. Coordinates applications to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for homeless funding and conducts an annual Homeless Count. Provides technical assistance to local organizations whose services do not meet the criteria for HUD funding, but are essential for meeting the needs of the homeless.
