The Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) oversees one of the nation's largest Substance Use Disorder systems of care in New York State with more than 1,600 prevention, treatment and recovery programs serving over 680,000 individuals per year. This includes the direct operation of 12 Addiction Treatment Centers where our doctors, nurses, and clinical staff provide inpatient and residential services to approximately 8,000 individuals per year. Eligibility for services is determined by the Developmental Disabilities Regional Offices (DDROs). Acts in a supporting role to DD State Operations Offices with regard to eligibility for others areas of statewide services including but not limited to: level of care determinations; clinical delivery and waiver service delivery; Article 16 clinics; quality improvement processes; review of audit reports for trend analysis; emergency preparedness; safety, security and maintenance; and implementation of OPWDD initiatives.
