The Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) oversees one of the nation's largest Substance Use Disorder systems of care in New York State with more than 1,600 prevention, treatment and recovery programs serving over 680,000 individuals per year. This includes the direct operation of 12 Addiction Treatment Centers where our doctors, nurses, and clinical staff provide inpatient and residential services to approximately 8,000 individuals per year. Provides information for people with questions about HEAP, Food stamps (SNAP), Temporary Assistance, denied benefits, and other benefits-related issues.

Toll-free number for customers to file complaints or ask questions about regulated utility service in New York. Assistance is available in many languages.The Public Service Commission takes complaints about electric, natural gas, steam, telephone, cable television, and water service, including application, termination, billing, and safety issues.

Advocates for alcoholism and substance abuse services in Western NY. Contracts management of local programs receiving state funds. Provides regional planning for services, regulatory oversight to all licensed drug and alcohol programs, and oversight of prevention, recovery and housing services that provide OASAS services. Provides a range of resources to help parents needing child care, people who want to start or are currently running child care programs, and anyone with a concern about the health or safety of a child in a day care program. Monitors and provides technical assistance to child care providers. Oversight is aimed at the provision of safe quality services.

Regulates and provides technical assistance and training to probation departments in 57 counties and New York City; trains probation officers employed by these local agencies; and oversees and develops standards for alternatives to incarceration programs administered by government and not-for-profit organizations and agencies across the state. Also oversees and funds 20 county-based, Re-entry Task Forces, composed of community-based organizations that provide housing, treatment and employment services to individuals returning from state incarceration to their communities. ##REENTRY##

Regulates professional boxing and wrestling contests, matches, and exhibitions within the State of New York pursuant to Title 25 of the Unconsolidated Laws. Comprised of three members appointed by the governor, in addition to a physician, a Medical Advisory Board, and staff, SAC administers licenses, enforces rules and regulations, and ensures that medical and safety standards are being met. It provides training seminars for referees, judges, and inspectors, oversees hundreds of events annually across the state, and is committed to promoting and maintaining the health, safety and integrity of its regulated athletic activities.

Eligibility for services is determined by the Developmental Disabilities Regional Offices (DDROs). Acts in a supporting role to DD State Operations Offices with regard to eligibility for others areas of statewide services including but not limited to: level of care determinations; clinical delivery and waiver service delivery; Article 16 clinics; quality improvement processes; review of audit reports for trend analysis; emergency preparedness; safety, security and maintenance; and implementation of OPWDD initiatives.

Serves individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities in Tompkins and Tioga Counties with Article 16 clinic services. Residential services and Tompkins Day Services program are components of this office.

Provides policy leadership, program direction, and administrative oversight for the integrated workforce investment system under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). WIA supports economic growth and barrier-free access to programs and services for adults, dislocated workers, youth, and special populations.
