The Manufactured Housing Replacement Program (MHRP) is designed to serve those with the greatest of need and lowest of income as its primary focus. The goal is to undertake actions in the replacement of dilapidated pre-1976 mobile homes or post-1976 manufactured homes with serious structural and systematic deficiencies with new Energy Star qualified manufactured homes. The program will fund the site work and purchase of an Energy Star rated manufactured homes.
Provides assistance to income-eligible households through housing rehabilitation programs and first-time home buyer programs. Advocates to eliminate housing discrimination due to race, color, sex, religion, familial status, disability, or national origin.

Assists low and moderate-income residents of the Town of Islip with housing and public service programs and eliminates blighted and deteriorated conditions in the Town's neighborhoods and commercial districts. Programs include housing rehabilitation for low income Islip homeowners, affordable housing for prospective first time homebuyers, commercial storefront improvements in downtown target areas, and promoting energy efficiency for all Islip homeowners. The entire township of Islip is eligible for most programs, with other programs targeted to downtown target areas in Bay Shore, Brentwood and Central Islip.

Working closely with Economic Development and Planning Divisions, the Division of Real Estate is responsible for acquiring, maintaining and disposing of all County real property; providing services related to real property for the executive, administrative and legislative branches of County government; generating revenues for the County; and controlling expenses pertaining to the maintenance of County-owned property. The Division also supports the County’s Affordable Housing programs, Community Development programs and the Suffolk County Landbank. Helps homeowners make repairs to their homes with construction costs of up to a maximum of $50,000 via an interest free loan. Repayment periods are no more than 15 years. Work includes removal of housing code violations, heating, plumbing and electrical repairs, exterior and interior renovations and remodeling.

Offers low cost, patient "gap" financing to private and non-profit developers of affordable housing developments in the Lower Hudson Valley. Financing can be used to cover pre-development expenses, construction gaps, bridge loans and other needs. Smaller feasibility loans are also available in Westchester.
The New York State HOME Program uses federal funds to expand the supply of decent, safe, and affordable housing within the State. The HOME Program funds a variety of activities through partnerships with counties, towns, cities, villages, private developers, and community-based non-profit housing organizations. The program provides funds to acquire, rehabilitate, or construct housing, or to provide assistance to low-income home-buyers and renters.

Rehab Loan Programs for owner occupants includes the Target Streets Rehab Initiative, Fifty-Fifty Program, and Emergency Assistance Program. Funds are available as full conditional grants, partial conditional grants, and no interest loans, based on applicant household income. First-time Homebuyer Programs: 1.) Downpayment Assistance: Enables many first-time homebuyers earning less than 80 percent of their community's median income to purchase their first home. Program provides funding up to a maximum of $5,000 to assist with down payment and closing cost expenses associated with the purchase. 2.) Homegrown Homeownership: Purchase and rehab assistance for eligible buyers purchasing a home from the City of Buffalo, Division of Real Estate. 3.) New builds or rehabilitated houses for sale from funded partners, depending on availability. Rental Development Program finances affordable rental developments so as to create additional affordable quality rental units in Buffalo.
