Partners For Prevention

Substance abuse prevention program for Wyoming County. Professional prevention specialists deliver evidence-based prevention programs to Wyoming County school districts and communities. Programs include responsible server training, underage gambling awareness, alcohol, tobacco, and drugs training, substance abuse prevention skills training, teen intervention, and more. Encourages partnerships between traditional and nontraditional groups in the community such as youth, schools, probation, businesses, libraries, media, youth-serving agencies, and faith-based organizations, parents, and other concerned adults. Through such partnerships, this community-based coalition provides prevention strategies that target under-age drinking, cigarette smoking, vaping, marijuana use, prescription drug abuse, and use of heroin and other drugs.

JUNIOR SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM - MENTAL HEALTH | ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES

Provides meaningful volunteer opportunities for people who are in recovery from mental illness. The companions are placed in approximately 25 locations including adult homes, nursing homes and also private homes and spend time socializing, sharing wellness tools and providing companionship. This program not only offers volunteer opportunities but it is a pre-vocational program which offers weekly trainings and skill building activities to enhance abilities and readiness for gainful employment.
