Program serves 18 boys and girls (5-12 yrs at admission) with a Committee on Special Education classification of emotionally disturbed or psychiatric diagnosis with psychotic features, or if without psychotic features, experiencing a functional deficit in home, school or peer relations.

Additionally, assistance with employment issues can be accessed through a VA Medical Center, and assistance with legal matters.Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) provide affordable, accessible care to veterans outside VA's core medical services by offering services like primary care, counseling, lab work, prescriptions, and radiology, while reducing travel time and wait times for outpatient care.Veterans Benefits Administration Offices (Regional Offices) provide veterans with earned benefits and services, including compensation, pension, vocational rehabilitation, home loans, death benefits, employment support, and disability assistance.Vet Centers offer free readjustment counseling and outreach services to veterans who served in combat zones and their families for military-related issues.

Provides support to mental health recipients to ensure their rights are respected, and that they have input in all phases of treatment and planning, along with access to centers that offer recreational, social and educational opportunities.

Coordinate workshops, events and other formats of public awareness and prevention of suicide issues. Helps to educate people about suicide and the warning signs.

Provides in-home and community based supportive services, including therapy and rehabilitative support services to children who are at risk for being diagnosed or formally diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis. Services available in Nassau and Suffolk to recipients of Medicaid.

A comprehensive program in a smoke-free facility, including individual & group counseling, 12 Step programs, DWI screening & assessments, day programs serving lunch, dual-focus treatment, probation & parole referrals, drug court assistance, health seminars, HIV testing, life skills development, crisis intervention services, and gender specific groups.

Provides outpatient mental health services, such as mental health screening, individual, group, child/adolescent counseling, geriatric services, including after care support.

Serves youngsters ages 5-18 who are diagnosed as having a severe emotional disorder and who need extensive psychiatric support. Diagnostic categories include, but are not limited to: attention deficit, anxiety, schizophrenia, paranoia and affective autism spectrum disorders. Services include 6:1:1 or 8:1:1 placement with appropriate support staff at the Sayville Academic Center and 8:1:1 placement with appropriate support staff at the Sequoya High School and Jefferson Academic Center. Psychiatric, rehabilitation, social work, and psychological services are offered. Students who no longer need intense psychiatric support can remain at their respective centers and receive counseling from Eastern Suffolk BOCES staff.

Provides coordination of suicide awareness, prevention, and post-intervention training strategies in partnership with other organizations and service providers.

Provides a warmline which offers peer support, information, and referrals for those with mental health needs, questions or concerns. Also helps with meeting individual goals (education, fitness, employment, etc.). The warmline is manned by recipients of mental health services. Note: Voicemail will direct caller to specific extension for peer support staff based on day of the week.

Provides Nassau County families support services for children, ages birth-24, at risk for suicide. Offers a suicide risk evaluation and individualized treatment plan focusing on safety strategies, healthy coping skills and relapse prevention. Provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management if needed. Offers individual, group and family therapy, in-home treatment, referral services and in-person education forums and webinars.

Offers outpatient programs and a wide range of services by mental health professionals. Our staff includes psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers and activities therapists. Patients can join individual, group and family psychotherapy, and we offer specialized services for depression, anxiety and childhood emotional disorders. NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session class for families, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. The course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of mental health conditions, increase coping skills and empower participants to become advocates for their family members.

Teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Offers an 8-hour training that gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to appropriate care. This training is appropriate for: Employers; Police Officers; Hospital Staff; First Responders; Faith Leaders; Community Members and Caring Individuals. Offers a social and recreational group for adults recovering from mental illness. The groups helps to reduce isolation and loneliness, and develop friendships, and enjoy recreational and social activities. Other activities include field trips, shopping, movies and dining out within the community.

Provides learning experiences where individuals can develop strengths and skills that contribute to an individualâs employability in the community. Services include teaching concepts such as compliance, attendance, task completion, problem solving, safety, wellness while at work, socialization at work, communication, accepting supervision, personal appearance and appropriate work attire; goal setting, work ethics, and work tolerance.
