Substance abuse prevention program for Wyoming County. Professional prevention specialists deliver evidence-based prevention programs to Wyoming County school districts and communities. Programs include responsible server training, underage gambling awareness, alcohol, tobacco, and drugs training, substance abuse prevention skills training, teen intervention, and more. Encourages partnerships between traditional and nontraditional groups in the community such as youth, schools, probation, businesses, libraries, media, youth-serving agencies, and faith-based organizations, parents, and other concerned adults. Through such partnerships, this community-based coalition provides prevention strategies that target under-age drinking, cigarette smoking, vaping, marijuana use, prescription drug abuse, and use of heroin and other drugs.

Assists individuals with functional mental health-related disabilities to successfully identify, pursue, and achieve their life goals at home, work, school, and in the community. Program is provided in collaboration with Capabilities and is A NYS OMH-licensed comprehensive PROS Program. Clients receive Community Rehabilitation and Support (CRS) services; Intensive Rehabilitation (IR) services; Ongoing Rehabilitation Support (ORS) services; and Clinical Treatment (CT).

Informs and assist members of the armed forces, veterans, their dependents and survivors in relation to (1) matters pertaining to education, training and retraining services and facilities, (2) health, medical and rehabilitation services and facilities, (3) provisions of federal, state and local laws and regulations affording special rights and privileges to members of the armed forces, veterans and their families, (4) employment and re-employment services, and other matters of similar related or appropriate nature. NAMI Basics is a free 6-session class (once a week or three full Saturdays) for parents and caregivers of adolescents and children who have behavioral issues, undiagnosed emotional issues, ADHD, ODD, OCD or have signs and symptoms of a mental health condition (brain disorder). The program covers: the impact of illness on family, biology, treatment options, overview of the systems available, communications and problem solving skills, crisis planning, latest research and much more. Offers a comprehensive recovery oriented program for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Pros provides integrated treatment, support and rehabilitation in a manner that facilitates individual recovery.

Provides Nassau County families support services for children, ages birth-24, at risk for suicide. Offers a suicide risk evaluation and individualized treatment plan focusing on safety strategies, healthy coping skills and relapse prevention. Provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management if needed. Offers individual, group and family therapy, in-home treatment, referral services and in-person education forums and webinars.

Focuses on mental health related programs geared towards the youth and their families. The goal is to provide support and educate the participants on the importance of mental health. Activities include: Youth Support Group for high school students hosting gatherings with on-site trained counselors to provide support and guidance, Virtual Mental Health Education presentations in partnership with NAMI Westchester, and more.

Provides an array of rehabilitation and recovery services for adults with mental illness which works to assist individuals in acquiring and maintaining skills and supports to live successfully in their communities. Family to Family Class is a free 12-week class for family, partners and friends of a loved one with a mental health condition (brain disorder) signs and symptoms of one. This course provides education and support to cope more effectively.

Provides psychiatric and psychological evaluations, individual, family, and group therapy, medication management, crisis intervention, case management, early intervention, and outpatient treatment, health screening and referral, discharge planning, and therapy groups.

Provides primary medical care, podiatry, psychiatry, psychology services, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech/language therapy. The Problem Gambling Prevention Program is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the negative impact that problem and compulsive gambling has on the individual, family and community while ensuring access to preventative and treatment services.
