Family to Family Class is a free 12-week class for family, partners and friends of a loved one with a mental health condition (brain disorder) signs and symptoms of one. This course provides education and support to cope more effectively.

NAMI Family Support Group is a support group for family members, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar experiences.

Provides assistance with discharge planning and care coordination for adults, admitted to acute care psychiatric impatient units, who are transitioning to community resources and settings.

Offers a variety of counseling and mental health educational services to the Iona community, including individual, couples, and family counseling. Also provides workshops and speakers on mental health issues to schools, groups, companies, etc.

Offers a comprehensive recovery-oriented program for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. The goal of the program is to integrate treatment, support and rehabilitation in a manner that facilitates the individual's recovery.

All applications for case management, assertive community treatment, and assisted outpatient treatment are processed through the Nassau County Department of Mental Health where eligibility is determined and assignments are made to the appropriate level of care. Provides support and education to family and friends of those diagnosed with mental illness, through advocacy, support groups, and education.

Provides a series of community education programs at the hospital in the Spring and Fall of each year. Subjects are related to family and mental health issues.

Offers Suffolk County adolescents, seniors and adults struggling with alcohol/drug abuse and their family members access to mobile recovery services. Provides comprehensive substance abuse and mental health assessments, diagnosis, treatment referrals, medication and case care management, outside a clinic setting. Provides assistance with medical, housing, financial, employment, legal and family issues. Offers individual, family and group therapy, recovery support with peer advocates, telepractice and medication assisted treatment at a mobile OASAS designated Center of Treatment Innovation.

Provides treatment services which may include emotional support, problem-solving assistance, information and guidance in a variety of counseling settings and approaches for individuals who are having difficulty in coping with a traumatic experience or in making the adjustments that are required by their particular stage in life. Clinic services include initial intake screening within the next business day and same day Urgent Care intake screening; comprehensive behavioral health assessment, screening, and monitoring; individual, couples, family and group therapy settings; and psychiatric evaluation which includes medication therapy and medication education and family support and education. Also offers to clients symptom management, support, case management and crisis intervention with face-to-face outreach and complex case management as needed. Provides behavioral health (mental health and substance use disorder) screening; developmental testing; psychiatric rehabilitation readiness and referral.

Provides housing assistance and case management services to individuals and families diagnosed with mental illness, substance abuse and other qualifying criteria.

Provides alcohol and drug abuse and problem gambling awareness and education to community groups interested in learning about current substance abuse and gambling issues, prevention strategies, and mobilizing to deal with community concerns and goals relating to alcohol and drug addiction and problem gambling.

We offer a comprehensive array of treatment, rehabilitation and clinical services that are customized to meet the needs of each participant. Free lunch included while at the program.

Provides daily mental health services in conjunction with BOCES special education. Specific mental health services include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psychopharmacology, psychological, psychiatric and social assessment, crisis intervention, and case management.

Operates a Single Point of Access (SPOA) which is a centralized intake process for referrals for high-intensity mental health services for adults who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness (SMI) and whose illness interferes with their ability to function in the community, home, school, and/or work. Referrals are evaluated to determine eligibility for Care Coordination, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) or Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT). Provides trainings in suicide prevention including Talk Saves Lives, QPR Gatekeeper Training, safeTALK, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

NYS OMH licensed residential program that provides 24 hour supervised congregate setting for 8 adolescent boys with a primary mental health diagnosis. Provides case management, support in daily living and the development of independent living skills, counseling, recreation, medication management and understanding symptoms, family support and relationship building.

The Center for Problem Gambling provides specialized counseling treatment to problem gamblers and their family members through individual, group, family and marital counseling. The Center for Problem Gambling also provides community presentations to increase awareness about the problems of compulsive gambling.

Provides timely access to services to support individuals living with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED).

A Person in Need of Supervision (PINS) is a person under the age of 18 who is incorrigible, ungovernable, or habitually disobedient and is beyond the lawful control of his or her parent or guardian.
