Provides a short-term psychiatric inpatient level of care for children and adolescents, ages 5 to 17 years of age. Provides active treatment for patients and their families including assessment, medication management, individual/group/family therapy, and therapeutic programming to assist each child/family in their recovery process based on their academic level and individual needs.

The Mental Health Inpatient Unit is located on the third floor of St. Mary's Hospital. The goal is to provide short-term, comprehensive, individualized care designed to mobilize a person's resources and enable them to cope with current crises.
Specialized services designed to carry out a plan that includes individual and group therapy, medication education, trauma recovery, alcohol and substance abuse treatment, vocational rehabilitation services, healthy living, interpersonal skills, therapeutic recreation, and discharge planning.

Discharge planning includes school placement, outpatient follow-up and family support. Also provides outpatient psychiatric evaluations and treatment for children, adolescents and families including medical assessments of medication for behavior disorders, school psychiatric evaluations, preschool assessment, forensic evaluation for various externalizing disorders such as affective disorders, hyperactivity, attention, impulsivity and conduct problems, affective disorders such as depression and/or mania and developmental disorders and language problems.
