* Provides respite to those individuals who are experiencing a crisis and are in recovery from mental illness. * Offers a peer-based program which provides guidance, mentoring, as well as support to others who are experiencing a crisis and need to get out of their home. The average length of stay at Affinity Place can be 3 to 5 days and then a Peer Support Specialist will complete a follow up on individual progress for up to 30 or 60 days. * Provides support and information through a confidential crisis hotline for pregnant women who are hiding their pregnancy and need assistance with alternatives to reduce the rate of infant abandonment. * Coordinates a plan with woman who feel helpless and alone during an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy, many of whom are close to their due date and have no plans for once the baby is born. * Connects women with emotional support, baby supplies, parenting classes, shelter, medical care, employment, adoption assistance and other possible resources in the community. * Helps women consider using the safe surrender law.
