Information on various reasons why teens try alcohol, marijuana, other drugs, or vaping and how teen substance use can lead to other problems. Prevent the possible progression from early use to problems. Free preventive education and/or help tailored for each teen and parent is available. Virtual counseling and information is available as well.

Family to Family Class is a free 12-week class for family, partners and friends of a loved one with a mental health condition (brain disorder) signs and symptoms of one. This course provides education and support to cope more effectively.

Clinical services are provided for individuals suffering with the disease of addiction. Personally designed program plans are developed with great care to provide the necessary counseling and support systems to assist the chemically dependent individual achieve and maintain abstinence and recovery. Individual, group, and family therapy, as well as medication-assisted treatments. Particular care is also paid to the family members of the individual, through supportive groups and education regarding the disease of addiction.

The ABA-based services provide the necessary design, implementation, and evaluation of systematic environmental changes to produce a socially significant change through skill acquisition and the reduction of problematic behavior. Services include direct observation and measurement of behavior and the identification of functional relations between behavior and the environment.

Educates high school students about alcohol and drug abuse and offers help if they are struggling with addiction.

Counseling is available for senior victims of elder abuse or financial exploitation. Services are confidential and can be offered in the home, virtual or on site. FCA's compassionate, trained staff can provide: accompaniment to court hearings or police interviews, assists with obtaining a court order of protection, assistance resolving and investigating actual or suspected financial exploitation, assist with filing for crime victim compensation, liaison with the justice system to keep you informed, free community presentations on protection against financial exploitation and scams targeting older adults.

Assists families adjusting to illness and home treatment, psycho-social counseling for long-range planning and decision-making, nursing home and adult home placement assistance, community resource planning and referrals.

Provides a mental health program designed for the criminal offender suffering from serious mental illness to successfully reintegrate into the community upon release

Provides 120 bed in-patient skilled nursing and rehabilitative services for long-term and sub-acute care patients. Services include physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapies, home care referrals, family and patient education, pain management, IV therapy, hospice, CPM, T.E.N.S., trach care, TPN, PPN, and wound care.

A children's bereavement program which helps children to overcome grief and depression resulting from the loss of a parent, sibling or grandparent. The program is offered at the First Presbyterian Church in Yorktown, Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Yonkers, and the Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle. Pizza and soda are brought for the children and their families.

Provides inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment services for children, adolescents and adults.

NAMI Family Support Group is a support group for family members, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar experiences.

Provides assistance with discharge planning and care coordination for adults, admitted to acute care psychiatric impatient units, who are transitioning to community resources and settings.

A 24hr. national hotline providing callers with immediate intervention assistance and information about shelters, counseling, health care centers.

Provides a therapeutic recreation program including group therapeutic activities for children with a serious emotional disturbance. Fosters better socialization skills and offers arts and crafts, sports activities, and field trips.

Offers scheduled meetings focusing on asthma education and provides professional guest speakers.

Provides individuals who have lost someone through a homicie emotional support and sensitivity training. Also educates families about violence and video games. Accompanies individuals to court and to meetings with District Attorneys. Advocates for family help and crime victims rights. Assists with petitions to block parole.

Summer programs include youth employment, leisure time and recreational/cultural activities. Also offers a Martial Arts Program, career explorations, Martin Luther King Scholarship which is given annually to deserving students, and the Kearse Soccer Clinic. Year round individual and family counseling offered. Tutorial and homework assistance is also available as well as workshops on substance prevention, underage drinking, teenage pregnancy, and HIV/AIDS.

Offers individualized services to residents of southeastern Nassau County and their families who are survivors of domestic violence or abuse. Programs, geared toward self-empowerment, include individual and family counseling, case management, advocacy and referrals to appropriate agencies. Additional services may include substance abuse treatment, parenting skill groups and leisure time activities.

Project Alliance is to help people manage behavioral health issues in the community. Mobile Crisis Response Teams would be a direct resource for direct 911 calls for a behavioral health crisis to local law enforcement and expand the resources to best meet the needs of such calls. Access the MCRT will be through local Police Departments by dialing 911.

Offers services to schools in providing guidance and support to deal with issues of loss and grief among students. Services include training, workshops on loss and grief for students and staff, consultations with teachers, guidance staff and students, resource materials, and assistance with bereavement group sessions for students.

Investigates reports of alleged child abuse and/or maltreatment made to the New York Central Register, via the toll free number, pertaining to residents of Suffolk County. All calls remain confidential. The Bureau also arranges for ongoing child protective and rehabilitative services to the child and the family.
