The Care Links Program provides volunteers to work with people 60+, providing transportation, friendly visiting, help with shopping, telephone assurance, Respite assistance, Handy Helping, Information/Referral, and an AlzheimerTs Support Group.

The Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP) supplies people over 60 with counseling regarding Medicare A, B and D, QMB, SLMB, retiree health plans, other health insurance, medigap policies, long term care insurance, claim processing, EPIC, etc. THe Office for the Aging needs volunteers for its health insurance counseling helpline. Volunteer-based programs offer a way to really make a difference in the lives of community residents, while at the same time providing information that you will personally benefit from. Volunteer opportunities offer flexible hours, free training, and ongoing support.

CVAC volunteers generally fill two vital roles; answering our 24/7 support line, and providing medical advocacy to the local area hospitals. To do so, volunteers must apply and be able to complete our 40-hour rape crisis counselor training. Upon completion, volunteers will become certified NYS Rape Crisis Counselors through the Department of Health. Trainings are generally offered in the fall and the spring, and occasionally in the summer. Offers volunteer opportunities in the following areas: patient care, gift shop, information desk/guest services, office/clerical duties, patient transportation, print shop, and dietary. The application form is also available on the website.

Offers volunteer opportunities as Arts Ambassadors who conduct visits to observe programs and activities at cultural organizations supported by ArtsWestchester, including artist residencies in schools and community sites.
