Offers a 62-acre site set along Hempstead Harbor on the scenic North Shore, Garvies Point includes permanent exhibits and educational programs devoted to regional geology and Native-American archaeology. NASSAU COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART | NASSAU COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART

Located at the former Frick Estate, a spectacular 145-acre property in Roslyn Harbor in the heart of Long Island's fabled Gold Coast. The main museum building, named in honor of art collectors and philanthropists Arnold and Joan Saltzman, is a three-story Georgian mansion that exemplifies Gold Coast architecture of the late 19th century. In addition to the Arnold & Joan Saltzman Fine Art Building, Nassau County Museum of Art includes the Sculpture Park, Formal Gardens of historic importance, the Pinetum, ponds, woodlands, an architecturally-significant restored trellis, rare specimen trees, and marked walking trails. Serves more than 18,000 Long Island school children and their teachers who visit the museum each year for exhibition tours and art-related activities. The Education Department additionally sponsors extensive programming for children, adults and family groups and also offers professional development to Long Island's educators. AFTER-SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAM | SONGCATCHERS-REACHING FOR PEACE THROUGH MUSIC

Provides individual and small group instrumental (Piano, Trumpet, Trombone, Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone & Drums) and voice lessons for children ages 7-13. The children are taught by talented high school, college, and community musicians. Through our Youth Mentorship Program, the youth instructors themselves learn leadership, responsibility, and teaching skills by professional musicians and music educators who serve as mentors and guides.

HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL & TOLERANCE CENTER | WELWYN PRESERVE

Located on the grounds of Nassau County's Welwyn Preserve, the Center is a nonprofit educational organization, dedicated to educating students and the community about the atrocities of the Holocaust and the importance of tolerance and respect for all people. Our center serves as a valuable resource for school programs, lectures, training, and other educational opportunities. Our tours provide a powerful and emotional experience, allowing visitors to learn about the devastating impact of the Holocaust and the lessons that can be learned from it. The exhibit features seven galleries that take you on a journey through history, from life before the Holocaust to its aftermath and the valuable lessons we can learn from it.
