The Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP) supplies people over 60 with counseling regarding Medicare A, B and D, QMB, SLMB, retiree health plans, other health insurance, medigap policies, long term care insurance, claim processing, EPIC, etc. THe Office for the Aging needs volunteers for its health insurance counseling helpline. To become a volunteer, one must go through HIICAP training

Animal adoptions at the Chenango SPCA include vaccinations and de-worming (age appropriate), Feline Leukemia test for cats, Flea Preventative Treatment, a free bag of Hills Science Diet Food (dogs/cats only), 30-day free pet health insurance (some conditions required), a free pet health exam from a participating veterinarian, micro-chipped and a pet ID tag.
