Offers compassionate support for families who need information and resources for coping with the death of a child. Whether you're a parent, sibling, family member or friend, this is a place to find support, tools, and community resources in Buffalo and the surrounding area. Services are available for families who have experienced the death of a child at Oishei Children’s Hospital, as well as those in the community who have lost a child at any age. The program was created to offer compassionate support, education, community referrals and support groups for individuals who are grieving and searching for meaning after this devastating life experience.

Provides in-home visits, counseling, and resources for caregivers and individuals with Alzheimer's and Dementia, including specific assistance and training, monthly support groups throughout the county, articles and information specific to caregivers, and respite care (in home or facility based). Parent Education & Support - JFS of WNY

Uses the evidence-based Incredible Years, Tuning Into Teens, and Nurturing Parenting curricula to provide education and support for parents of children ages 0-18 from a variety of languages and cultural backgrounds. Parent groups are designed to strengthen parent-child interactions, improve children's social and emotional competence, and reduce behavioral issues and related harsh discipline. All groups are free and open to the public and led by NYSPEP Credentialed Parenting Educators. Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions offered in both online and in-person formats. These groups offer parents and caregivers an opportunity to share, learn, and connect with one another to discuss challenges, problem-solve, learn how to build healthier family relationships, and promote more successful social, emotional, and academic outcomes for their children. Individualized family sessions also available. Both referrals and walk-ins welcome. Spaces limited to 14 participants per group.

Kinship Caregiver Program - Catholic Charities

Provides support to relative caregivers using a family system approach. Program encourages families to access existing community resources as well as forming new relationships with other community organizations and services. Services include outreach, advocacy, case management, assessment, and referral/linkage to family counseling. Semi-monthly support groups for caregivers and children are provided in Hinsdale and Cattaraugus.

Healthy Mom and Baby Program - Gerard Place

Offers support group, classes, and baby supplies such as Pack 'n Play (after one hour of Safe Sleep Training), baby care supplies, clothes, food, resources and bus passes for doctor appointments. Weekly support groups for parents and guardians. Nurse on-site to support pregnant and new moms. Also hosts Baby Cafe, a free, drop-in, informal breastfeeding support groups offering ongoing professional lactation care and intervention.

Provides independent living skills, information and referral, advocacy, peer counseling, transitional services, benefits and entitlements advisement, educational advocacy, nursing home transition into the community, individual support services, Olmsted housing subsidies, and support groups for people with disabilities. Loan closet provides free, gently used medical equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, shower benches, raised toilet seats, portable ramps, and more, based on availability.

2U ABC Breast Cancer Support Group & Relief Fund - NFMMC

Support group provides resources, comfort, coping skills, and a place for women to share common concerns and emotional support. Meetings are located in the Heart Center of Niagara's HSBC Community Room on the second floor. Also maintains the 2U ABC Relief Fund, which provides direct financial support to both uninsured and insured patients who have high co-pays or cannot afford their co-pays, and who are financially and medically qualified for medical treatments and/or prescription medication. Financial support may go towards radiation and chemo treatments, prescription medication, or over-the-counter medication.

Beacon Center - Amherst Outpatient Facility

Provides substance use disorder and mental health treatment. Services include substance use disorder evaluation, treatment including individual and group therapy, medication assisted treatment (MAT) including Buprenorphine (Suboxone), Vivitrol, and Naltrexone, drug and alcohol testing, mental health counseling and medication management, family counseling, adolescent counseling, peer support, and impaired driver evaluation. Certified by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS). All services are strictly confidential. The Amherst facility is in the Sheridan Center Plaza at the corner of Sheridan Drive and Sweet Home Road. It is located next to Allstate.
