**THIS AGENCY HAS DISCONTINUED SERVICES AS OF MARCH 14, 2025** Provides support and case management for alleged sex abuse and physical abuse victim in Nassau County. The program provides crisis intervention, accompaniment to criminal and family court, police, District Attorney's office, forensic rape exam. Serves as a liaison to the Nassau County Multi Disciplinary Team and service providers. Assists in completing Crime Victim's Compensation.

For newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, up to one year post-diagnosis. Meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 5:30pm to 7pm in 1 North Lounge. Preregistration not required.

Provides support and guidance for bereaved adults through weekly evening discussion groups. Geared to adults who are coping with a loss of another adult, either the death of a family member, friend or parent. Not designed for those suffering loss of a child or adolescent sibling. Staffed by trained volunteers. Sponsored by and meeting held at Saint Thomas of Canterbury Church. Meets every Tuesday at 7:30pm. Call for more information.

Offers a patient support group for individuals diagnosed with a blood cancer. Meetings are facilitated by a social worker and an oncology nurse. Call for locations and times.

Provides youth, family and individual counseling, plus support groups for students. Appointment required.

Fearless provides confidential assistance to victims of domestic violence and their children. Advocacy, shelter, support groups, individual support, 24-Hour Hotline, One-On-One chat sessions Mon-Fri 8:00 am-8:00 pm through website, information and referrals, training and education, teen dating violence curriculum, accompaniment, children's services in shelter, a program designed for Latina victims of domestic violence El Abrazo de mis Hermanas - My Sister's Embrace.

Offers an 8-week bereavement support group, four times a year, for people who have suffered the loss of a loved one.

A bereavement support ministry for parents whose babies have died during pregnancy or infancy. Meeting are held on 1st Friday of every month at St. Kilian's Center Media Room. Meeting time 7:30pm-9:30pm.

PATHS offers individual and small group discussions for elementary-aged children dealing with issues of divorce, loss, substance abuse, and bullying.

Support group for friends and relatives of people with a mental health diagnosis, operating out of the Willow Park office.

Offers over 26 outreach programs to the local community. Ministries include youth outreach for children 8-16 years of age, academic enhancement which includes tutorial program, homework assistance, computer and study workshops.

Provides case management, information and assistance, and caregivers' support groups and outreach.

Provides the following services, with some transportation provided: advocacy, benefits/entitlements, developmentally disabled parent training, family reimbursement, guardianship, home care, home modification, independent living skills training, information and referral, parenting skills for parents of developmentally disabled children, residential habilitation, in-home and out-of-home respite care (day, evening, and overnight), service coordination/case management, support groups, and day camps.

Peer support group for people who are blind/visually impaired. The group is led by volunteers who are blind/visually impaired and includes social support and guest speakers.

Self help group for anyone struggling with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, stress, fears of any kind, or anger that is getting in the way of social, work, and home life. Other interested persons are welcome to attend as observers. Group meets weekly.

Provides adult behavioral health services, family counseling, psychiatric treatment, individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention. Offers support groups on parenting, self-esteem, stress management, MICA (Mentally Impaired Chemically Addicted), social skills, men's issues, and teens' issues.

An education and support program that helps women with cancer manage the appearance-related side effects of treatment. Professional cosmetologists volunteer their expertise during group sessions. Complimentary kits containing name-brand cosmetics are distributed during group programs.

Provides a supportive environment for breastfeeding mothers and their babies, along with free breast feeding support, resources, and one-on-one assistance from an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Weekly drop-in support is available for both pregnant and breastfeeding moms through the Baby Cafe, which offers education, networking, and time for moms to share their breastfeeding experiences. Infant feeding class available several times a year at no cost.

Provides evaluations for magnifiers, reading glasses, telescopes (to see distance), assistive aids, CCTV's lighting, etc., and sun glasses to help control glare. Teaches techniques/strategies to accomplish things such as cooking, home management, training, and using computer adaptive technology. Also provide support groups, benefits advisement, adjustment counseling, and residential blind rehab programs. ##Veteran##
