Our Intake Department facilitates access to short-term Planned Respite services to help caregivers continue to provide long-term support for a child with developmental, mental health, or health care issues. A direct care service provides activities and skills development to a child while maintaining the child's health and safety.

100-unit supervised home for older adults. This facility is licensed as an adult home. Adult homes provide long-term residential care with 24-hour supervision and a full range of services such as meals, housekeeping, some personal care and social activities. Adult homes are licensed and regulated by the New York State Health Department.

Offers time off for caregivers living with a loved one with mental illness. Provides assistance and education to the family members while assisting their loved one to become more independent. Services are provided in the home as well as in the community and are geared toward skill development, socialization and becoming involved in the community.

Provides at home respite care services for families and caretakers who may need some time off from caring for a loved one.

Offers a variety of home care options, from basic medical and daily living needs, to more specialized medical care, skilled nursing, infusion therapy, and support services for traumatic brain injury. Short-term in-home respite care is also available for families/caretakers, along with a companionship program for older adults who need someone to visit or help with simple tasks in a patient's home or in a health care facility.

Offers respite relief for families with an intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individual who resides at home.

RAYIM serves the developmentally disabled with in home respite for guardians of children, in home teaching of basic living skills, day trips within the community for adults, supported group home for single adults.

Provides support to individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities, and their families through respite services, helping to improve quality of life, crisis intervention, and other individualized support care.

Provides in-home respite relief for caregivers of an intellectually and/or developmentally disabled child or adult who resides at home seven days a week. Care provided for up to 5 hours a week. Call for further information.

Provides a variety of services in home and community based settings to assist with improving the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families via OPWDD and OMH. Supports include respite, community habilitation, recreation, after school programming, summer programming, broker services, early intervention services, children's mental health services, intensive parent training, children's health homes, and employment services.

AARP provides tips and information on life balance including adult in home respite care , in home attendants for people with disabilities , community wellness programs  and caregiver/care receiver support groups.

Provides non-therapeutic, short-term childcare to families that have a child with a mental health diagnosis which requires ongoing treatment. The purpose is to give the guardian a reliable, planned break for a period of 2-4 hours. The guardian may use the respite time to run errands, attend professional or personal appointments, spend time with family and friends, take a class, renew old hobbies, enjoy quiet time, and/or spend valuable one-on-one time with their other children. Should not be used for school courses or work.

Provides free standing (overnight) and in-home respite services, after school respite (at the Cheektowaga Center for Learning), Saturday respite, community habilitation, and self-direction / supported living services.

Provides counseling and consultation on caregiving issues and long term care planning. Offers support programs such as In Home Respite Care, Personal Emergency Response System, and Adult Day Services.

Aspire of WNY CILS Division can support people with developmental disabilities living in the community with family, friends, or on their own, and can assist with the exploration, planning, and implementation of community based supports. Offers a variety of supports designed to best meet an individual's needs and desires to promote, support, and maintain their active engagement in the home, work, and community.

Provides respite for individuals in their own homes. Overnight respite is not available.

Provides in-home visits, counseling, and resources for caregivers and individuals with Alzheimer's and Dementia, including specific assistance and training, monthly support groups throughout the county, articles and information specific to caregivers, and respite care (in home or facility based). Provides supportive counseling for family caregivers through Family Services of Jamestown. Support group meets at Christ First United Methodist Church, 663 Lakeview Avenue, Jamestown. Provides the following services, with some transportation provided: advocacy, benefits/entitlements, developmentally disabled parent training, family reimbursement, guardianship, home care, home modification, independent living skills training, information and referral, parenting skills for parents of developmentally disabled children, residential habilitation, in-home and out-of-home respite care (day, evening, and overnight), service coordination/case management, support groups, and day camps.

Hearts and Hands is a volunteer based non-profit organization that provides free escorted transportation, companionship, and in-home supports for older adults in communities throughout Erie and Eastern Niagara Counties. Our care recipients are often individuals who stopped driving due to age-related medical conditions or for financial reasons. Recipients may also need assistance at home with light yard work and home maintenance, or companionship to renew and refresh their caregiver. Our elderly neighbors are often lonely, isolated, and in need of friendly human interaction. In response to a recent community assessment and a national assessment from AARP, Hearts and Hands has designed our program to address social isolation through all three avenues of service: transportation, household supports, and companionship. Hearts and Hands volunteers may be the only people our care receivers see during a week, and their company is, in and of itself, a bright spot in daily life. Hearts and Hands is a best-efforts program. Services are provided by volunteers who give their time as they have it available. Provides in-home aide service to relieve caregivers of homebound seniors, ages 60 and older. Provides caregiver education and other assistance to caregivers. Also provides out-of-home respite though the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Adult Day Care and Empower for Elders.
