BIANYS Brain Injury Parent Support Group

Statewide virtual support group for parents who are raising a child under age 18 with a brain injury. Virtual meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of every month from 7:30pm-8:30pm. Participants can join by computer or telephone; Zoom is not necessary to participate.

Summit Behavioral Pediatrics Clinic

Offers short-term interventions to families struggling with common childhood problems including depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and concerns related to ADHD and autism spectrum disorders. Conditions treated include: - Anxiety disorders, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety, panic disorder, specific phobias, social anxiety, separation anxiety, and school phobia - Disruptive behavior disorders including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), conduct disorder (CD), and general behavior problems - Elimination disorders including enuresis, nocturnal enuresis, and encopresis - Mood disorders including dysthymia and depression - Pervasive developmental disorders including Autism, Asperger's Disorder, and PDD-NOS - Others conditions including tics, Tourette's, habit disorders, thumb-sucking, sleep problems, selective mutism, tantrums, defiant behavior, and social delays Treatment options include: - Anger management groups for adolescents - Cognitive-behavior therapy - Coping skills training - Systematic desensitization - Exposure and response prevention - Habit reversal - Parent child interaction therapy - Organizational skills groups - Parenting education - Parent-teen negotiation - Relaxation - Self-control therapy - Skills building Teletherapy appointments available.
