The Office for the Aging offers many services for the senior residents of Steuben County including, but not limited to, information and referral, nutrition through congregate meals, advocacy, support groups, transportation services, caregiver services, case management, and the Bone Builders and Senior Meal Programs. Bone Builders and the Senior Dinner Clubs are overseen by Pro Action of Steuben-Yates.

Target areas for support can include: Housing. Employment. Health/wellness. Parenting strategies. Budgeting. Basic needs. Communication with schools.
Provides assistance to informal caregivers, spouses, adult children, other family members, friends and neighbors, in their efforts to care for an older person who needs help with everyday tasks. This can include certain aspect of personal care, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as, housekeeping, errands, grocery shopping, providing meals, transportation, home repairs, financial support, emotional support and companionship as well as short term respite care within the home. Maintains a resource library for information for caregivers as well as age-related diseases.

Offered are a basic overview of Alzheimer's disease, an intense six-week education and support program for person who are newly diagnosed and their care partner, numerous workshops for families, monthly forums and three regional conferences as well as other topic-specific programs.
