Provides a free one-to-two year service dog training program for veterans with mental health disabilities. Teaching and coaching the veteran in the process of training their own dog to become their service dog. Both the training process and the end result of having a fully trained service dog helps the veterans cope with their specific disability. Helps veterans in the process of managing symptoms enough to take back control of their life. Helps veterans gain confidence and build positive relationships with their dog, their family, other veterans, and their community.

Entry level training classes open to members and non-members.Advanced obedience classes, plus rally, agility, nosework, etc. classes, require club membership.Classes, usually one hour per week for seven weeks, are normally held at the Shops at Ithaca mall.
* Offers shelter and placement service for homeless and stray animals.* Offers low cost spay/neuter services of owned dogs and cats to low-income and qualified individuals.* Provides temporary care (30 days) of animals for qualifying pet owners. Pet owners receiving support/social services, or leaving a domestic violence situation, veteran or active military duty, victim of house-fire or other disaster and working with the Red Cross.* Offers a variety of humane education programs that include lessons and activities that foster an appreciation for animal companions.* Lost and found pet listings, holds stray pets.* Provides pet food on an emergency basis if stocked from donations* Offers a Pet Behavior Help Line volunteers respond within 24 hours.* Provides dog and cat food to local food cupboards.* Provides low cost spay/neuter services for feral (stray, un-owned, non-domesticated) cats.

Provides shelter service for stray, homeless, abused and abandoned animals of Chemung County; offers and promotes animal adoptions; hosts low-cost spay/neuter clinics for the public in partnership with local agencies. Also investigates complaints of cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. All complaints are kept confidential, and can be made anonymously. Dog behavior and training classes are available.

* Provides service dogs to veterans referred through the VA.
Animal-assisted therapy has proven helpful for children with autism spectrum disorder, behavioral disorders, cerebral palsy, intellectual or developmental disabilities, muscular dystrophy, post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injuries, and anxiety. Animal-assisted interventions support recovery from health problems and help manage certain medical conditions.
