Beginning in early April, enhanced federal tax credits will be available for low- and moderate-income consumers (income up to $51,040 for individuals and $104,800 for a family of four) to lower the cost of Qualified Health Plans. * An organized marketplace developed by New York State to help people shop for and enroll in health insurance coverage. Individuals, families and small businesses can use the Marketplace to help them compare insurance options, calculate costs and select coverage online, in person, or over the phone. The Marketplace also tells what type of financial assistance is available to applicants to help them afford health insurance purchased through the Marketplace. It also helps people to check their eligibility for health care programs like the Essential Plan, Medicaid, and Child Health Plus and sign up for these programs if they are eligible.

Family Assistance: Provides temporary financial support to families with children and pregnant women who are without sufficient income to maintain themselves. Safety Net: Provides vouchers for essential expenses to individuals who have reached their lifetime limit of Family Assistance and children in the care of non-relatives, or for single and childless couples. Temporary Disability Assistance (TDA): Provides assistance to persons with temporary disabilities, persons 60 years of age and older, caregivers of those with disabilities, and those with permanent disabilities awaiting SSI benefits. SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program): Provides assistance purchasing food for individuals and families with limited income. Mixed Household SNAP benefits are granted to households who have some members who receive temporary assistance and some who do not. Benefits are obtained electronically through the EBT system. Medical Assistance: Provides medical coverage to persons without insurance, premium support to persons paying a Medicare premium and coverage for adults whose children receive Child Health Plus. Rental Assistance: Provides assistance with rental payments to eligible households, as determined by the application process.
