New York State and Nassau County funding may provide up to 20 hours of aide assistance weekly. Chore workers can provide a few hours of light housekeeping and shopping for those who do not require hands on care.

**** From July 14th - September 19th, Office of the Aging programs and activities will be happening at alternative locations across Batavia. The main building at 2 Bank Street is still open but please call for more information. For in person help, please visit the satellite location at Genesee County Career Center, 587 East Main Street, Batavia. ****
Provides weekly programs at the Batavia Senior Center. Some of the programs offered are bridge, line dancing, cribbage, arthritis chair-based exercise, quilters, and painting classes. New groups are always being organized.
Special programs such as 55 Alive Driver Refresher Course, educational, health, and informational programs are also offered. Day trips to concerts, exhibits, musical productions, restaurants, and areas of special interest are also scheduled in the spring, summer, and fall.
Senior groups and clubs exist in most areas of the county which offer luncheons and pot luck dinners. Most groups offer programs of interest, entertainment, day trips, and other recreational activities.

Volunteers become a vital community resource addressing critical needs and enhancing quality of life in Chautauqua County. Over 540 volunteers serve in over 65 volunteer sites throughout the county, with major focus areas including "Healthy Futures" (assisting individuals affected by Food Insecurity), Health Education, and Senior Companionship - Access to Care and Aging in Place.

Foster grandparents serve at one of the following educational sites: Head Start Centers, Buffalo Public Schools, charter or parochial schools, educational preschool programs, and select after school educational programs. Eligible adults are those ages 55 and above, who live in Erie County and meet income guidelines.

Individuals serving in the program work to enhance the quality and impact of early childhood programming in Western New York. Program focuses on early childhood school readiness and addresses the need for more prepared early childhood teachers to work with ethnically diverse, low-income urban populations. ABLE Early Childhood provides tools to help members build careers in early childhood education and more effectively prevent future academic and developmental delays for students.
ABLE Early Childhood members serve full-time for seven months in child day care center classrooms, working with 3-and-4-year-old children. Members serve alongside lead teachers and are coached on early childhood teaching techniques. Members also receive Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credential training.
ABLE Early Childhood also operates the ABLE Summer Learning program, for which members serve full-time for eight weeks during the summer helping to offset summer learning loss for students in grades K-12.
