Employment Services model utilizes an employment developer to assist with job placement and a job-coach who provides support to the people in the form of job-site training, on-going assessment and follow-along for as long as necessary in order for the people to maintain employment.

Also included is English as a Second Language, workshops in youth leadership, self-esteem, employment opportunities, and technology to help students meet the changing demands of today's job market.

Offices provide convenient one-stop shopping for employment-related needs. Division of Employment and Workforce Solutions offices offer many DOL programs in a single location-including career related assistance and services for employers. Staff at these centers have been cross-trained in Department services so they can address more completely the needs of employers and job seekers. The Division of Employment Services works with the public and private sectors to create job opportunities, offer job fairs, help workers find a job, and help businesses find skilled workers. Offers guidance to teenagers and young adults who want to go to college or technical school, including with help searching for financial assistance. Also provides pre-job training with interview skills, resume writing, entering the military, etc.

ACCESS-VR is a vocational education, job search and other services to eligible individuals with disabilities to enable them to achieve independence through education, training, employment and support.

The Rockland Community College Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) is a dropout prevention and college access program that is funded by the New York State Education Department. RCC LPP serves 340 historically excluded students (grades 7-12) in the East Ramapo, North Rockland and Nyack school districts. Rockland Community College LPP is committed to the belief that all students can learn and should have equal access to resources.

Provides a program to help adolescents and young adults to effectively secure and maintain employment on their own. Services include pre job guidance, customer services, staying organized, networking, budgeting, time management, job expectations, asking for help and dressing appropriately. The program serves as a mentor and liaison between the youth and the employer until the youth has successfully transitioned into the job.

Provides access to job database individuals with visual impairments or other disabilities, offers counseling for displaced homemakers, disabled individuals, or others in transition or "beginning again" situations. Also services include basic skills training and remediation, GED preparation, youth competency, work experience, occupational/vocational training, on-the-job training and customized training for eligible employers. Computer classes are available from basic application, web design, A+ training, etc.

A day program which helps Medicaid eligible individuals with developmental disabilities develop personal, social, and work readiness community integration through many activities and opportunities within a structured environment. Services may include daily living skills instruction, recreational and social activities, exercises to improve coordination and pre-job training to help participants develop and maintain the functional skills required for community involvement, self-advocacy, self-care and employment.

Assists legally blind persons find suitable employment.

The center also provides information, advice, and training concerning job-seeking skills including: dressing for an interview, maintaining personal hygiene, communicating with co-workers, communicating with supervisors.

Provides guidance to those students looking at career choices with profile testing, pros and cons, and what classes to attend. Also offers support services to those students transferring to or from another school.

Provides a literacy, ESOL and job readiness program to immigrant women; the purpose of which is to work the language ability of adult participants. Providing them with a key to future personal empowerment, increased civic and social responsibility, and enhanced skills for membership in the workforce.
