SUNY Erie Career Coaches work with registered constituents to create a pathway to success. Services are cost-free; however, individuals must be registered with the Career Center to access individualized assistance. Services include career coaching, linkages and job referrals to hiring employers, individual and comprehensive assessments, career coaching, resume preparation, job search planning, job interview preparation, networking job clubs, Individual Training Account (ITA) tuition grants for eligible customers, referrals to partner agencies, and Adult, Dislocated Worker and Trade Act programs. Daycare and other support services may be available for qualifying individuals while they are in WIOA-approved training.

Program assists job seekers to succeed in the job market by providing guidance to improve job readiness skills, resume writing, and job search strategies. Also provides career guidance and one-on-one consulting.

Assists families in becoming as independent and self-sufficient as they possibly can. This can include assistance in employment, education, parenting and nutrition. Financial management and health and safety may also be addressed. Can also coordinate transportation, assist with clothing and counseling referrals.

Offers easy access to the following employer services: job postings, candidate listings, information (referrals, permits, legal, etc.), economic development referrals, pre-hire testing (fee for service), recruitment, screening, job fairs, and business seminars. Also offers coordinated referrals and access to over 50 certified training programs throughout Chautauqua County and surrounding areas. Customers can obtain the following services: internet access to statewide and regional job listings, learning the best skills to acquire a job, assistance with job placement, and unemployment insurance information. Offers specialized services for youth under the age of 24. Youth summer employment opportunities may be available, depending upon funding. Free informational workshops: Career Exploration, Create/Update Your Resume, How to Conduct an Effective Job Search, Interviewing Techniques to Help You Get That Job, and much more. Resources include computer access, fax machine, telephone access (for calling employers), out of area job listings, photocopier, and professional staff assistance.

Works to enhance quality of life, financial stability, and economic independence for individuals and families. Offers one-stop assistance in a confidential environment to community members. Assistance available year round to help families improve financial management skills and succeed in the workforce. Offers convenient job search services to all job seekers. Current Job leads available daily. Interviewing for jobs, job referral, employment counseling, employment workshops, referral to training including TAA (Trade Adjustment Act). Every Career Center has dedicated staff to help assess the needs, skills, and interests of job seekers. Job seekers are guided through a step-by-step approach to the job search. Veterans Services: Offers Priority of Service to veterans and their eligible spouses. This means that persons who served on Active Duty in the United States Armed Forces will: - Be served first by the next available staff member - Get first priority for jobs and training for which they are eligible and qualified ##Veteran##

Provides employment related services to Suffolk County Youth. Offers youth career counseling, resume preparation, computer labs, job listings, vocational training, video library, phones/fax for job search and career exploration via Career Zone and Choices, as well as access to the Community Resource Database of Long Island. Offers the In-School Youth Experience Program; a federally funded, school-based program for economically disadvantaged and/or at risk youth age 14-21. In close cooperation with several Suffolk County school districts, the program promotes good work habits and workplace skills aimed toward a future of success in the workforce. Also offers the Out-of-School Youth Work Experience Program; a federally funded program for economically disadvantaged youth aged 16-24 who are high school dropouts wanting to complete their high school education or graduates who are seeking to develop good work habits and employment skills in preparation for successful competition in the labor market and full-time employment. In addition, Summer Youth Employment Program. The Summer program is designed to provide first-time work experience opportunities to economically disadvantaged youth. Provides assistance with resume writing, the job application process, filing for unemployment benefits, applying for financial aid, faxing services, bilingual services, and computer class instruction.

Provides Information and Referral. Offers a wide range of programs which may include book discussions, senior citizen's advocacy, exercise classes, bus trips, lectures, driving courses.

Offers counseling, career development, work readiness seminars, intensive computer and office skills training, self-employment training, and job placement assistance to displaced homemakers.

Vocational Program evaluates and prepares individuals with mental illness, for employment, job development and job coaching services.

A day program which helps Medicaid eligible individuals with developmental disabilities develop personal, social, and work readiness community integration through many activities and opportunities within a structured environment. Services may include daily living skills instruction, recreational and social activities, exercises to improve coordination and pre-job training to help participants develop and maintain the functional skills required for community involvement, self-advocacy, self-care and employment.

Provides employment and training services including job counseling, testing and assessment; resume preparation assistance, interview training and other pre-job guidance services; job matching and referral; labor market and career information; information on financial aid for education and training.

Provides employment skills development and job placement services in the areas of bookkeeping, accounting, general clerical, computer skills, graphic arts, stock and inventory for people with a disability aged 16 and up.

Provides resume preparation, helps with job searches, explores career options, provides access to training, gives tips for interview success, job readiness, English as a second language classes, DSS applications assistance, nonprofit service referrals and fields general human services questions.The program is in partnership with Suffolk County Department of Social Services and the Department of Labor.

Assess seniors, ages 55 and older, with job placement, on-the-job training,. This service tailors job readiness for each senior, including problem solving and stress management.

Provides career training such as construction skills, OSHA training, sewing and design, job counseling, interview preparation, etc.

Provides guidance to those students looking at career choices with profile testing, pros and cons, and what classes to attend. Also offers support services to those students transferring to or from another school.

A distinct job-linkage service that pairs young adults interested in obtaining employment with neighborhood businesses and local individuals seeking assistance in the areas of yard work, child care, tutoring, office help, and more. Teaches job readiness, helps build skills, and enables youth to gain real work experience.

Provides guidance to those students looking at career choices with profile testing, pros and cons, and what classes to attend. Also offers support services to those students transferring to or from another school.

These services provide vocational/employment services to individuals with a disability and who have barriers to employment. Individuals with special needs, differing abilities, economic challenges and/or other barriers to employment support services, such as Job Search Supports, Resume Writing, Marketing Strategies, Supported Employment, Job Development, Job Coaching, Job Placement, Job Retention Services, Vocational Case Management Services.

Provides quality service and advocacy for New York State veterans, armed forces members, their dependents and survivors, ensuring they receive benefits granted by law for their service to New York and the nation. Some of the services provided include: Career Assessment, Referral to Jobs, Contacting Employers on your behalf, Resume preparation assistance, Information on Federal, State and Local Civil Service Opportunities, Job Search Planning, Labor Market Information, Information on direct appointment to Civil Service positions and Referral to other agencies that provide services to veterans. Provides free public access computing services specifically designed for individuals from vulnerable populations, such as the unemployed, individuals with disabilities, seniors, those struggling with language barriers, etc. Services include, computer Basics (in English and in Spanish and possibly other languages.), learning in-depth Microsoft Office software, writing resumes and cover letters, practicing interview skills, test-taking such as Learning Express, GED preparation, job readiness sessions with a trained coach/advisor, assistance with completing e-forms for food stamps, other benefits, on-line job applications, immigration papers, etc, and help with navigating the internet for social service agencies and benefit opportunities.

Provides employment preparation to individuals in an alcohol or drug treatment program, to assist them with the skills and knowledge to become economically independent.
