Provides a Diagnostic and Treatment Center for primary oral health care services in Suffolk County. In the clinical teaching facility, well trained students and post graduate residents offer treatment under direct faculty guidance and supervision. An entire range of dental care is available including Dental Anesthesiology, Endodontics, General Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontology and Prosthodontics. Special care for phobic patients and patients with disabilities. All new adult patients must participate in a screening evaluation prior to becoming a patient at the Dental Care Center. Provides dental care services.

A comprehensive health center offering primary care (assessment, treatment, and referral), dental clinic, health education, and diabetes education. Tuscarora Community Health Worker Program provides home-based case management services to participating women and their children and helps them overcome barriers to care. Workers help identify complicating factors that make it difficult for clients to access the care they need; assist in enrolling pregnant women into prenatal care and children into primary care; assist in enrolling for services such as WIC, Medicaid/PCAP and Child Health Plus; provide education on topics such as breastfeeding, baby care, lead poisoning, immunization, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, and substance abuse; provide referrals to food pantries, housing assistance, educational programs, childcare, and other services; and provide support and help to overcome the barriers that prevent families from receiving a healthy start in life. HOURS: Monday, 9am-6pm; Tuesday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Tuscarora Community Health Workers Program: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4pm.

Full service family dental center in a state of the art facility. Specializes in serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

Dental hygiene clinic serving the public. Appointments are provided by dental hygiene students and supervised by faculty; sessions are approximately 3 hours in length to accommodate teaching. One or more appointments may be required and will include a combination of services. Treatment is provided based on the individual needs of the patient and will be determined during the initial exam. Free available services include: - Dental cleaning (prophylaxis) - Advanced deep scaling and root planing - Dental x-rays - Intra/extra-oral exam cancer screening - Nutritional and tobacco cessation counseling - Home care instructions of gums and teeth - Polishing to remove stains - Fluoride treatments (various) - Sealants - Recommendations and referrals for outside follow up care - Anesthetic is available for sensitive patients

Provides primary health care and comprehensive dental care for all ages. Primary care includes back to school physicals, sick calls, annual physicals and wellness visits, immunizations, and chronic disease management. Dental care includes exams, cleanings and deep cleanings, fillings (composite and amalgam), teeth whitening, crowns/bridges, emergency care, dentures and partials, complicated extractions, and wisdom teeth removal.

Provides dental care, pediatric care, and primary care (family medicine) in a certified Patient Centered Medical Home that is accessible and focused on quality and safety. Can help enroll in health insurance coverage.

Dental Education, Prevention and Early Treatment Services.

Offers a community dental care clinic to low income individuals and families who do not have dental insurance.

Provides services to the public using currently accepted dental hygiene procedures to provide optimum care for each patient. The Radiology Department utilizes up to date technology in all radiologic procedures including routine radiographs, panoramic and digital radiography. All treatment provided in our facility is supervised by registered dental hygienists and dentists employed by the State University of New York. The Dental Hygiene Care Center follows all CDC and ADA guidelines to keep our students, faculty, staff and the public safe. Services Include: Complete Medical History; Oral Cancer Screening; Blood Pressure Screening; Home Care Instruction; Dental Nutritional Counseling; Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy; Scaling, including quadrant scaling; Periodontal Screening; Root Planing; Selective Polishing; Fluoride Treatment; Periodontal Maintenance Therapy; Pit and Fissure Sealant Application; Radiographs/Digital Radiography and Tooth Whitening. The services of the Dental Hygiene Care Center are made available to the public at a nominal fee. The fees collected for services are used to defray the costs of operation of the Care Center.
