Community Supports and Day Services are designed to provide enriching opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to enhance their social skills and their independence. Programs are responsive to new and changing interests of people receiving supports and their families. The menu of available supports focus on social skills, daily living skills, wellness, technology, music, and the arts. Participants are fully included in their communities through recreation and experiential learning.

Offers a variety of day services and activities for individuals with developmental disabilities including out of home respite for children to provide the caregiver a short break, social and recreational programs and in home habilitation.

Provides programs that focus on wellness, community integration, and individual growth and productivity by enhancing physical, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and occupational needs.

Provides training and support to adults ages 21 to 70 years who are developmentally disabled, including pre-vocational volunteer work, nutritional classes, fitness training, and social and recreational activities.

* Provides habilitation training to individuals in their home or within their community to maintain or advance levels of independence, i.e., hygiene, household chores, mobility, personal health care, financial management, and social skills. Individuals can live independently or with family in the community.

Provides coordination of services through linkage and referral to supports and services for children 3+ yrs through adults with a diagnosis confirmed by DDRO (Developmental Disabilities Regional Office) to allow them to live as independently and productively as possible.

Day Habilitation services are designed to help people of all ages with developmental disabilities to develop and maintain skills, abilities, and interests while being active members of their communities. Support individuals with independent living skill development, goal achievement and community involvement. Offers educational instruction, as well as opportunities for social and recreational activities. Experiential learning opportunities and volunteering offered through community partnerships. Transportation available. Medication monitoring. Preauthorization for Day Habilitation Services is done through OPWDD.

Programming is done either in the home or in the community or both, again based upon the need of the individual and the desires of the family. The individual and/or the family is involved in the hiring of staff members who then work directly with that person, whether child or adult, working on those goals that have been identified as valuable in the ISP. The amount of hours this programming entails is agreed upon during initial meetings with the MSC and the family as approved by OMRDD.

Organizes activities and volunteer jobs that help others in the community while individuals learn life skills, social skills and work skills. Must have an MSC referral. Call for further information.

Weekend Respite provides an opportunity to socialize and enjoy a variety of recreational activities. Assistance with personal care, meal times, medication and other areas of need.* Cayuga Centers is granted funding to assist families with costs of goods or services directly related to the care of a family member with a developmental disability.

Provides various levels of support to individuals who are living on their own or with their families. Included is in-home respite services, crisis support, family reimbursement, socialization and organized activity opportunities as well as site-based programming.

Provides habilitative services through group activities out of the person’s home. Day Habilitation services can assist individuals to acquire, retain or improve their self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills, such as communication, travel and adult interactions. Activities and environments are designed to foster the development of skills and appropriate behavior, greater independence, community inclusion, relationship building, self-advocacy, and informed choice.
