* Provides a linkage of families and individuals who have a brain injury, which includes:

• Family Advocacy: Support and counseling, connecting family with funding resources, housing, transportation, and service providers
• Educational Advocacy: Support and counseling for educational needs after a brain injury, helping family with IEP process, and attendance at CSE meetings
• Outreach: Connection with service providers, hospitals, schools, etc. to increase awareness of BIANYS, traumatic and acquired brain injury, and increasing FACTS enrollment
• Prevention: Connection with service providers, hospitals, schools, etc. to teach injury prevention and safety
• Training: Connection with service providers, hospitals, schools, etc. to conducts training's about traumatic and acquired brain injury

Implements community education programming concerning child passenger safety, bicycle and pedestrian safety, teen safe driving, motorcycle safety, older driver safety, and impaired and distracted driving.

* Collaborates effort between neighborhood citizens and the City of Rochester's four district neighborhood centers to deal with a variety of neighborhood issues; Neighborhood planning and coordination services. Police and Citizens Together Against Crimes (PAC-TAC) Program: Volunteers in the community work with an on-duty patrol officer or crime prevention officer and help prevent crime. Neighborhood Watch Programs. * Provides car seat safety inspections for residents of their district.

* Offers educational programs geared toward community wellness, disease/injury prevention, and healthy behavior.

* Offers car seat distribution program as well as information on proper installation and use of car seats.

Establishes and maintains communication within the community, provides information that assists the public in protecting themselves against criminal acts, and improves the ability of the community to reduce criminal behavior. Responsibilities include the coordination and development of programs including bicycle safety programs, children's fingerprinting, senior citizen safety, and car seat installations and inspections.

* Administers the County law enforcement agency and provides services to the following: Civil Enforcement Unit. Safety programs. Programs for youth. Fingerprinting. Car seat inspections - limited amount of free car seats available.

Provides a six-hour online course designed to sharpen driving skills for drivers 50 years of age and older. Insurance companies offer 10% reduced rate for successful completion of the program.

Provides law enforcement services for Village of West Carthage residents.

* Offers Traffic Safety Education Programs. * Assists in the correct installation of car seats.* Provides car seats to low-income families who obtain a referral from a social service agency.

Provides driving safety education for families which include: car seat education and fitting stations, bike helmet fittings, court mandated education for ages 16 to 25 years, court mandated driving classes, and New York State approved defensive driving 6-hour program.

A program that brings the Victim Impact Panel model into local high schools as part of the studentâs application for a parking permit to allow students to drive to school. The program mandates that both the student and a parent attend this modified VIP which includes victims of substance related crashes as well as representatives from the District Attorneyâs Office, the insurance industry and the medical community. Parents and students gain an understanding of the serious legal, medical, insurance and emotional costs resulting from drinking, drugging and driving. Families are asked to create a driving contract.
