Clients receive budget counseling, debt management and credit restoration services via Certified Credit Counselors. We prepare an action plan to reduce debt and improve credit scores.

Provides transitioning veterans regular one-on-one sessions with a financial coach in order to link their goals and values to their financial dreams, create an action plan and track progress towards the goals mutually set by them. Offers long-term support and guidance to families who are gradually shifting from government assistance to self-sufficiency. Services include budget counseling and transition support to residents.

Services include budget planning, financial education, resource referral, and debt management. Debt management is a renegotiation of the unsecured debts owed by a client with their creditors in order to get better repayment terms such as lower interest rates, waiving or reduction of fees, and re-aging of accounts in exchange for a consistent consolidated monthly payment made by the client. This is NOT a debt settlement program.

ETC provides temporary housing units for Social Services and permanent housing for homeless. Services include financial counseling, legal and family issues, community meals and employment assistance.

Provides comprehensive, non-medical services for soldiers and families assigned or attached to the Warrior Transition Battalion and soldiers in the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES), including financial and education counseling, DEERS and ID card assistance, social services coordination, employment support, and transition assistance.

Free energy efficiency and financial management workshops are held throughout the service territories.These Workshops are conducted by Cornell Cooperative Extension as part of the EmPower New York Program with funding from NYSERDA.

Provides a food pantry and assists with food and other emergencies such as utilities, fuel, and shelter. Also works with families in the area of family development, including budgeting as well as job skills and job search assistance.

Provide prepurchase, first time homebuyers, default delinquency counseling, budget counseling, foreclosure prevention, pre and post bankruptcy counseling. Walk-ins accepted. Call for further information. Counseling services available in Spanish.

Provides rental assistance paid directly to landlord for low income families. Households that are receiving rental assistance can participate in Family Self Sufficiency to improve earning power through household budgeting and credit counseling. Families can also earn savings accounts.

Assistance is available, when funds exist, for food and hygiene products, typically in the form of food vouchers/gift cards. Provides financial assistance, budgeting, advocacy, and referral. Counseling offered for depression, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, communication issues, problem solving, family transitions, and parent/child conflicts. Offers grief support groups and Domestic Violence Victims weekly support groups. Confidential location of the Domestic Violence Victims group is shared with women when they call for information. Other support groups may be formed based on need or upon request.

Offers assistance to older adults for whom budgeting, bill paying, and day-to-day financial matters have become a burden. Trained staff members and volunteers visit the homes of clients to help them: - Plan a budget / pay bills - Balance a checkbook - Live within their income - Review bank and other statements - Work with creditors - Fill out simple insurance forms - Link with community resources

A not-for-profit public interest firm providing free legal services to low-income individuals and families in Western New York. NLS aims to create the greatest access to the justice system for low-income individuals and those living with disabilities to pursue goals that will increase both the stability and the quality of their lives. Community collaborative of service providers working together for veterans and military families. Offers a one stop, one location connection to various services including accredited benefits counseling, case management, education services, employment services, financial counseling, housing and emergency services, outreach and intake operations, peer mentoring, readjustment counseling, and women and family services; all these are provided by various service providers with expertise in their field. ##Veteran##

Assists families in becoming as independent and self-sufficient as they possibly can. This can include assistance in employment, education, parenting and nutrition. Financial management and health and safety may also be addressed. Can also coordinate transportation, assist with clothing and counseling referrals.

Services provided on a case-by-case basis after assessment. Emergency assistance may include information, advocacy, referrals, emergency food, personal care toiletries, diapers (through Every Bottom Covered), clothing, household items, prescription medications, budgeting assistance, and utility payment assistance (Neighbor for Neighbor Heat Fund and Care and Share; see separate listings on these programs). Care Managers help families and their children achieve wellness goals by providing support and service navigation with various health and social care systems and other resources. Also provides a care management program centered around helping seniors access benefits, transportation, health care, and social services.
