PREP is a teen pregnancy prevention program for middle school-aged youth that uses evidence-based program models to educate youth on healthy decision-making patterns, abstinence and contraception, as well as adult preparatory subjects, which includes healthy relationships, financial literacy, effective parent-child communication, and college and career planning. PREP has an Advisory Board that is dedicated to helping through cross-collaborative partnerships (related to positive youth development work), program oversight, sustainability, and expansion opportunities for youth in Haverstraw and Spring Valley.

Pathstone's Newburgh Office houses The Housing Stability Counseling Program (HSCP) and the First-Time Homebuyers Program. HSCP offers free housing counseling to residents facing possible foreclosure, eviction, loss of residence or financial stress regardless of income. The First-Time Homebuyers Program offers housing counseling and education toward home ownership for low to moderate income individuals and families.

The Girl Scouts Leadership Experience is a one-of-a-kind leadership development program for girls. Girl Scouts is a place where girls practice different skills, explore their potential, take on leadership positions.

Provides personalized financial management and budgeting education classes to assist families in asset building and work towards financial independence. Programming includes linkages to community resources, creating a budget, meal planning and grocery shopping, and home energy savings tips.

Provides opportunities for refugees and immigrants to set up plots of land to farm and plant culturally appropriate vegetables and food. Education on the planting environment, assistance selling produce, a goat farm project to raise and sell goats, and literacy classes are offered.

Financial Education at Jericho Road includes two programs: Financially Fit and City Roots. Financially Fit offers financial education to refugee and American-born adults, empowering them and their families with the knowledge needed to successfully navigate American financial systems, manage limited resources, and embrace a healthy financial lifestyle. Curriculum centers around visual and experiential learning and teaches principals of banking, budgeting, paying bills on time, proper credit use, and savings. City Roots is Jericho Road's first-time homebuyer education program. This program is for both refugees and American-born adults.

Offers education, outreach, and supportive services to the community including high school equivalency classes and life skills classes on topics such as budgeting, job readiness training, parenting, nutrition, and spirituality.

Works with dads--biological fathers, adoptive fathers, father figures, and grandfathers--of children up to 24 years old. Provides life skills training, life coach services, employability skills training, parenting skills training, 24/7 DADS class, and MoneySmart program to benefit dads. Works with dads both in the community and in incarceration. Incentives are provided to complete the training.

Program designed to strengthen male and father engagement with children and families throughout the city of Buffalo and Western New York. Focuses on creating asset development opportunities for both residents and entrepreneurs. Assists individuals in growing and investing in their communities by providing lending capital, training, consulting, technical assistance, seminars, workshops, and low-cost business rental space to new and existing businesses that would otherwise lack access to these services. Assists area residents in developing asset based thinking by providing financial literacy training, basic budgeting, and home appliance loans to combat predatory lenders. Loan programs and Cottage Industry Assistance Program target low to moderate income existing and prospective individuals. Chautauqua Microenterprise Loan Fund and the Women and Minority Microenterprise Loan Fund Programs help small businesses by providing small business start up and expansion loans. The small business incubator offers small businesses an opportunity to grow and stabilize with subsidies around rent, business services, and technical assistance. Program site serves as a Warming Center during times of excessive cold and as a Cooling Center during times of excessive heat. Always call ahead to make sure a Warming/Cooling Center is open before going there.

A free TRIO EOC program sponsored by SUNY Genesee Community College (GCC) that provides free support to aid community members in applying to, funding, and enrolling in further education. The purpose of the program is to help participants achieve their educational and career goals. Staff are knowledgeable and skilled in the fields of high school equivalencies, higher education applications and processes, state and federal financial aid, veteran and family-of-veteran education benefits, and scholarship opportunities available at the local, state, and national levels. Program offers individualized one-on-one appointments with highly trained Outreach Specialists who can assist with: - College and trade school applications - Financial aid applications and scholarship searches - High school equivalency options - Career counseling and vocational training options - Educational opportunities for veterans - Financial literacy and planning Although sponsored by SUNY GCC, the program is separate from SUNY GCC Admissions and does not recruit on behalf of the college.
