The HOPP Program is designed to ensure that no family in New York State ever loses their home because they do not have access to a lawyer or qualified housing counselor. Services include: - Assistance with applying for a loan modification, or other types of loss mitigation - Direct representation in court proceedings, including settlement conferences - Homeownership counseling Operates HomeownerHelpNY (https://homeownerhelpny.org/), an online service that provides New Yorkers with the tools and support to avoid foreclosure and/or scams, and to help them find qualified mortgage assistance relief services from the HOPP network. HomeownerHelpNY is a collaboration between the New York State Attorney General Office and the Center for NYC Neighborhoods, a non-profit committed to protecting and preserving affordable homeownership.

Focuses on creating asset development opportunities for both residents and entrepreneurs. Assists individuals in growing and investing in their communities by providing lending capital, training, consulting, technical assistance, seminars, workshops, and low-cost business rental space to new and existing businesses that would otherwise lack access to these services. Assists area residents in developing asset based thinking by providing financial literacy training, basic budgeting, and home appliance loans to combat predatory lenders. Loan programs and Cottage Industry Assistance Program target low to moderate income existing and prospective individuals. Chautauqua Microenterprise Loan Fund and the Women and Minority Microenterprise Loan Fund Programs help small businesses by providing small business start up and expansion loans. The small business incubator offers small businesses an opportunity to grow and stabilize with subsidies around rent, business services, and technical assistance. Program site serves as a Warming Center during times of excessive cold and as a Cooling Center during times of excessive heat. Financial Education at Jericho Road includes two programs: Financially Fit and City Roots. Financially Fit offers financial education to refugee and American-born adults, empowering them and their families with the knowledge needed to successfully navigate American financial systems, manage limited resources, and embrace a healthy financial lifestyle. Curriculum centers around visual and experiential learning and teaches principals of banking, budgeting, paying bills on time, proper credit use, and savings. City Roots is Jericho Road's first-time homebuyer education program. This program is for both refugees and American-born adults.

Will work to meet other needs where support is not available in the community. Provides backpacks filled with school supplies each year to low income children, K-6th grade, while supplies last. The Angel Action Holiday Christmas Program provides clothing and gifts for children of all ages through a shopping event open to parents and grandparents.

Fair Housing Advocacy Program assists individuals who feel they are victims of discrimination when purchasing or renting a home. Provides information, assessment, and referral to the appropriate federal, state, or local human rights agency or court. Housing location services and landlord/tenant advocacy also provided. Life Skills Advocates manage monthly SSI and SSDI benefits for consumers. Program ensures that SSI/SSDI consumers who need assistance with their finances have their basic housing and medical needs managed each month to make certain that they are safe and secure in their housing. After all basic housing and medical needs are paid, any surplus funds are provided to the consumers in weekly Personal Needs Allowance (PNA).
People suffering under the burden of student loans learn about the various payment plans, deferment programs and special options available. We provide a complete financial analysis to determine which program best suits the borrower.
Trained volunteers meet with individuals to discuss how to make adjustments to household spending on a reduced income, ideas for negotiating with electric and credit companies and also include one-on-one financial counseling for clients as needed as well as to discuss micro business loans and help with start up costs, capital or expansion. These trained volunteers will work with individuals to address crisis situations (foreclosure, garnishes or repossessions) as well as developing budgets that will ease the strain on finances.
