he Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) provides reimbursement to child care providers for qualifying meals served that meet nutrition requirements for breakfast, lunch or supper, and snacks. A meal pattern outlines the kinds and amounts of food that must be served. Training and educational programs are also offered to child care providers that participate with CACFP, to ensure that nutritious, safely-prepared meals and snacks are available to children in their daycare program.
Provides information about USDA programs, such as SNAP, WIC, School Lunch programs, information on proper food safety, sanitation issues, food handling and prep for infants and toddlers, and emergency food assistance, including if individuals have complaints regarding the programs and improper procedures, etc.

The Hotline is staffed by food safety specialists with backgrounds in home economics, nutrition, and food technology. The majority of calls come from consumers regarding how to properly handle their food, including food safety during power outages: food manufacturer recalls; food borne illnesses; and the inspection of meat, poultry, and egg products.
Provides educational programs on agriculture, horticulture and related topics. Provides assistance with insect, plant disease, weed identification and management crop production recommendations environment and health issues farmland and open space management and preservation. Also interprets research studies and educates populations on the proper safeguards when using chemicals/pesticides.
